The Ultimate Shredder

Does anyone else think that the design of the Shredder has never been as cool and scary as it could be? The old toon costume was probably the most streamlined and very close to the comics version but a little goofy to match the style of the show. The armour of the 2003 Shredder is imposing but a little to busy for my taste and has a certain mechanised look, which granted works well with his revised origin.
The armaments of the movie shredder look good although the underlying costume is rather shapeless.
Well these are just my thoughts, if you have any others or have seen a shredder design that you think does the character justice let me know.

I'm fond of the old movies designs, probably because I can envision it being real with ease. (Because it is real...)

My favourite Shredder costume is the one used in the 2k3 toon, but my favourite version of the character is the one from the movies, because he's just plain scary.

That said, it ticked the hell out of me when the used the version from the 2k3 cartoon in the new TMNT game. What a cop-out.

I thought Shredder wasn't in Next Mutation.

My favorite is probably the movie version, although that's kind of a cheap response since it was a real version.

Worst Shredder, though? How about the musical version?

I actually like the Mirage version mostly because its so "bland". Sometimes less is more.

i like the 2k3 version of shredder, though the design imo takes a lot of human aspects out of him. the mirage comics version of him just seemed more human.

I agree, it was simple and intimidating.

I agree with you, the best Shredder is the 2k3.
The worst Shredder for me is the one on the Ovas. Yuck.

I think that the Tengu Shredder from the Lost Season was incredibly badass. He was pretty much pure evil, and I loved the fact that he became incarnated through Oroku Saki who was originally a legendary warrior. Plus, his image was just so demonic, and so post-apocalyptic looking with the torn up cape, crazy armour and green magic. Definitely one of my favourite versions of the Shredder, but still second to the Shredder from the original comic series.

It is with great great shame that I admit this, but I always thought that while the costume was very poorly made, the Next Mutation Shredder design was kind of cool.

That being said, my favorite design would probably be the original Mirage look, mostly because I'm not in love with any of the others. The movie design is nice too, but I was never a huge fan of the tinfoil look of his robes.

I have to say i liked the shredder at the begining of the new movie, but it is still second to the mirage original.

The 2k3 shredder was the best looking in my opinion. Second would be shredder from the first movie. The mirage shredder was very ninjaesque... wich is a good thing of course but I thought that it was lacking a bit of a bad ass factor... Know what I mean ?

As for the demonic shredder... it was an interesting design, but not demonic enough or ''evil'' enough for my taste.

But as good as all those shredder were, my new favorite is my own shredder that you can see in my sig. A mix of the 2K3 design, with a celtic kinda armor. Yup, its my new favorite design. And all black ! Bad ass...

Oh, the irony of singing a song called "I Hate Music".

I found a pretty cool shredder on deviantart
http://-vassago-.deviantart.com/art/Shredder-1280367
I also took a closer look at issue 1 of the comic and that version of the shredder seems much more ninja styled than the dark samurai look from the cartoon onwards.

Do you guys think shredder is cooler with or without breastplate armour and with or without weapons, i.e. using just his armour?

Which is your favourite origin story? Utrom, Tengu or classic.

That is incredibly badass. Remind me to find the Shredder sketch I got from Jessie Munoz and scan it sometime - that one is awesome too.
