TMNT graphic novels

I never really followed the old comic books that much but my renewed intrest in the turtles makes me want to get my hands on these old comics. I know they have the original comics in graphic novels (I think they have 4 volumes) but I'm just wondering are these graphic novels (which I can only find on ebay and amazon) how many original comics are in the four volumes? And is there any easier way to get a hold of these comics/graphic novels other then ebay or Amazon?

I actually just purchased the 4 graphic novels from a friend at another message board. There are a total of 4 graphic novels which recollect the first 12 comics in full color.

These were my first introduction into the TMNT comic world and now I am hooked! I have read through Book III, and I have really enjoyed the story arcs. The triceraton storyline is great. Splinter gets captured, and the Turtles have to get him back. The color is a nice change from the black and white. I think there are also a few bonus stories and comics throughout the four graphic novels.

I paid $65 shipped for the whole set, which by eBay standards is low. Your best bet is to buy each one separately on eBay and you will wind up paying about $10-17 a book shipped. However, it will take some time to get them all that cheap. If you buy them in a lot, it will range from about $50-150 depending on the condition.

For specifics on what each book contains, go to http://www.ninjaturtles.com and go to the "comics" section, and then click on "TMNT Books" and scroll down. It has each book's picture with details on what extras are included.

Good luck, you won't be disappointed.

You might also want to check out the TMNT Collected Book Volume I, it contains all 12 comics, but in black and white, and you only have to buy one book. I just ordered books II-V from Mirage so I am good through comic 23 or 24.

Also, here is a link to a topic I made about the same Graphic Novels, it might have some more information for ya:

$150?!

Since they've been quite common on eBay for a long time, I'm guessing that the amount of bidders (and subsequently the level of the winning bids) are unusually many right now, because of the movie?

If you can find the first Collected Book for a reasonable price, I highly recommend that. Otherwise, the Graphic Novels are much more common and (usually) easier to get for a lower cost.

the first collected book will encompass 1-11, along with all 4 turtle-specific micro-series. however that thing can cost up to $150 alone easy depending on the condition. but if you don't care about condition or anything it can be bought for maybe $50. and actually, the four graphic novels contain the same issues, in full color of course...either way you go, it's much worth it.

the fifth volume skips 17-21.

Actually, Collected Books III and IV collect:
Collects issues #15, #17 and #18.
Collects issues #19-21.

So with all of them together, which I have ordered, I do not miss 17-21.

I've tried in two or three auctions before, and I'm having the feeling that I might have an easier time finding the individual issues.

So far my Mirage collection is:
-1992 reprint of issue number one
-a copy of issue 3
-Trades volume II-VI
