Smile if they did remake for old tmnt ?

hi tmnt fan

everytime i watch one of the old tmnt episode i feel sad ..and i wonder whay the never think to make new tmnt series based on the classic series .

it was very clear that old show gain huge success .so iwish one day they wise up and did that series instead of that weak tmnt 4kids series !

it's like u watch one of the poor american tvanimationn like g i goe or transformers action or any thing far from the sprit of real ninja turtles series

I think what would be really interesting is to see where the OT TMNT characters ended up in life Does April ever get a boy friend? Do the turtles ever settle down with any special mutants? Do Shredder and Krang finally get divorced? and most importantly......does Irma find the love of her life *dramatic soap opera music from the 70's plays*
That would be cool

Yeah, I have to agree on that with you. Totally not weak. Hella awesome!
Hence my whole "runion update" idea

The OT was the "best" for young viewers. Had I been 20 when the OT first hit television, I would have never watched it.

2k3 is awesome. 87 toon will always hold a special place in my heart but based on pure badassness, 2k3's got the 1 up.

Agreed. Had I been in my teens or older at the time, OT would never have interested me. It was great for 5 year olds, but the only reason I watch any of the OT eps now is b/c of nostalgia. It's rather watered down in my opinion.

On the other hand, if I hadn't been an OT fan back in the day, I would never have become an NT fan now. I wouldn't have picked up that VHS at Walmart that got me re-addicted to the Turtles.

But anyway, I'll take NT over a diluted OT-based series any day.

No remakes please. The orignal series is what it is, the new series is what it is too. Both are fine.

I just love the whole "Cartoons are made for teens" attitude. Remake as in the TMNT have to stop Krang and Shredder but this time their actually a threat and not something to laugh at? A possibility. A continuation of the old toon right down to the fourth wall breaking? Realistically it should get laughed off the screen. Frankly there's only really a market for the old toon in people who grew up in the 80's. And even then some of them will have moved on.

I love the original series, it consumed my entire childhood and I love the tingle of nostalgia I get when I rewatch them. I think however, that a remake would be the worst possible idea. Plunge ahead I say! Let the glorious past remain the glorious past.

I caught onto it pretty late, but I gotta say the 2K3 series is the best way that television could be serving the TMNT universe right now.

I just recently started watching the 2K3 series and it is no where near "weak". I agree that Krang would be a cool addition to the new TMNT but, man, he is all I can think of when I see those Utroms. The OT is awesome because of it's cornyness and repeatative nature. I liked how they poked fun at themselves and the 80's cartoon formula. Please don't touch.

I agree...I like the OT for nestalgia and laughs and the NT for it's "butt kicking ninja action." Diffrent Turtles for diffrent moods. Now maybe if the "remake" were a Red Sky continuation, with the return of Shredder, Krang, and Bebop and Rocksteady (only less goofy and more threatening) then I'd like to see it. Heck, I'd like to see a TMNT crossover of some kind, but that ain't happening.

Although I'm not sure about an entire series, it would be nice to see an animated DVD movie (or short TV special) based in the original cartoon universe as long as they could get the original voices (and maybe writers) to participate and as long as they could capture the humor that made the series so entertaining.

And that's exactly what it was: entertaining. I find the original cartoon a fun show to watch, and I still consider it my favorite TMNT universe by far. Sure, the action in it can't compete with the new cartoon, but that's not why I watch it, and that's not what its main goal was anyway. And while kids were its target audience (which also goes for the new cartoon, like it or not), there are certainly no rules that dictate who is "too old" to watch what, so adults with a sense of humor can definitely still enjoy the original cartoon as well.

Considering the fact that the old cartoon is primarily a comedy, wouldn't that make it a success?

Now? Maybe if it's Spondgebob Square Pants style humour. Or Fairly Odd Parents. No, wait Danny Phantom.

I only like the other two. Come to think of it maybe a show made specifically by a big name network like Cartoon Network or Nickelodeon would help in terms of popularity. Would certainly guarantee more people would see or hear of it.

Again, I really think that a direct continuation could only really look good to the nostalgia crowd. Woudn't get anywhere with any other audience.
