Marvel vs DC

Check it out! New ep of Marvel/DC: After Hours!

For those that don't know. Marvel/DC started out as a comic parody of the Mac vs PC ads and has since grown into a phenomenon with an actual plot! Go here to see em all! They're all awesome and hilarious!

Check it out!! We finally get to hear what the creator of Marvel vs DC sounds like!

Both creators (Brina and Michael Agrusso) of the awesome youtube series were interviewed by Marvel at Comic Con. Check out the vid.

Someone been posting a link to these over at TFW2005 too, they're hilarious! The tribute one with Bumblebee is my favorite so far though. I wonder if we'll ever see WW's movie troubles at After Hours.

That's not an "Offical" one though. Although...LMD. I love this guy. Thing is I thought Life Model Decoys didn't emit a smell unless programmed to. But there's probably an explanation for that.

"And what's in that pocket?"

"Thaat's not a pocket."

Yeah. I realized it wasn't official when I went back and watched it again. Still funny though.

As for official one here are some of my favorite lines:

"Hulk between jobs, need to supplement income."

"At least Wolverine didn't put out his cigar in your eye this time."

"I never knew this place had a basement."

"Look, Comic con went really well, alright? I'd been very good, everyone was celebrating, we thought we could make it to Tijuana, they dropped the charges, so just shut up, okay?!"

There's a new vid up. Justsomerandomguy and gal explain that the next ep will be late, My fave part of the whole thing tho is the cat trying to eat Spider-Man.

What I think is really neat is how big a phenomenon this has become. Marvel has even hired them to make exclusive vids for em!

Are you sure you didn't just jump to a conclusion because Marvel actually hosts their first six or so videos on their site now?

Ah! I found the info.. it was in his blog:

.My first four videos were posted on Marvel.com(!). AND they've actually asked me for more PLUS original videos dealing solely with their Marvel characters.

Eh, it's funny in parts, but like Mac v. PC ads they were annoying in the beginning. The first three or four could be summed up by "I didn't like Superman Returns. How come they didn't make it more like the various movies Marvel is rushing out there?"

As far as movies go, in the last couple of years I'd side with DC because Marvel's philosophy right now seems to be quantity over quality.

True. Sometimes I think Joe is trying to make a commentary with his storylines, like magic being a dangerous thing (look what it did to the Avengers and what it will do to Spider-Man), and politics dividing the best of heroes and end with legends and lives lost (Cival War, death of Cap).

These are all good ideas, but Quesada is not a writer, hes an artist and a buisnessman, and he cant co-ordinate these concepts well. The result are great sellers than sell no real cohearant story. He's trying to be "real", where as DC are just trying to be..SUPERMAN KICKS ASS, BATMAN KICKS ASS!

DC's only problem is the same as Marvels presently, they keep killing off Z-list heroes, even a-listers, and their crossovers are way too dark. What they DO have however is a balance of fun titles.

Marvel's best titles recently have been Exiles, MJ Loves Spidey, and World War Hulk is Quesada's best "event" since taking over. What do they all have in common?

Exiles is a FUN little trip across alternate realitys. Its a "What If" issue every month, and the team is relatable and have no clue what to do when they get there

MJ Loves Spidey is FUN because the relationships between the characters at a young age are fragile and ever changing.

World War Hulk is FUN because he's kicking the asses of every hero Quesada turned into an asshole for legitimate reasons, and CW was designed simply to put over the Hulk as the guy who would show that a united front must never be divided.
