Could this be what's happening?

I decided to move this news here as speculation.

Alien Hunters? Could this be the next series of TMNT? I guess after the non-success of FF they decided to keep going the Sci-Fi route. You know, as a change of pace.

Their doing jungle toys to, their just variants. Remember the Monster Hunter figures from 2K3?

I love how they always make toys like that, or the Mystic Fury turtles, and then later use them in the series but don't have the toys out to go along with the episodes so they don't sell well.

Common sense would say release Mystic Fury with the Ninja Tribunal episodes, and release Monster Hunter with Season 4, but they didn't do that...

I doubt this will be the new series, it's to weak to become a whole series but it could be an episode. Though I don't see they being able to make full blown characters out of those guys. I'd rather them focus on the cast they already have. Which means I want to see more Rat King and Hun. The mini mutants give me some hope of that so who knows.

I hope not. I'll give it a shot if they do though. I'd just have low expectations.

Me neither. Aliens are the easiset thing to do. Look at what they did to Goku and Gonzo. Instead of giving them a big explaination to their mysterious origens, they just made them aliens.

If I want to see an alien hunter show, i'd watch Men in Black.

I suppose it's possilbe. I was under the impression that the style of the new series would be similar if not the same as the 2k3 series.
If the new series adopts the TMNT movie look, then that would make these new toys make a bit more sense.

Those alien toys are just variants based on the movie line.

They're NOT toys based on the new season that starts in '08. We know a new Jaguar toy is coming out too, but that's not going to have anything to do with the cartoon either. Don't jump the gun.

Either way, we have to worry about them fouling up the toy line with useless side varients, or we have to worry about them fouling up the cartoon series with useless side series. It's loose lose no matter what. I know the show and toy line are both geared to kids, but kids ain't that dumb. No matter what it is it is a stupid idea.

I actually agree with that. Variants practically killed He-Man in 2k2.

Aren't you jumping the gun assuming that too?

I think that purple alien could be a movie version of Sh'Okonabo... The mantis dude is from Episode 2 of Star Warts lol... The mechanical thingy has a slight resemblance to Wingnut (look real hard, the nose, the mechanical appendages)... the brown thing looks like some stone warriors from the first power rangers movie...

No because Laird would never use an Archie or Old Toon character in his series for anything more then a 3 second joke mocking them.

And they don't do that enough. That stuff is hillarious.

Edit

If this WERE the new TMNT series, I would like to see this as a three/four episode arc, not a full series. it would actually work pretty well for a short story line.

They already did do this for a short story line, but it was monsters instead of aliens lol

EDIT: Shortpacked was funny. I enjoyed that, and it kinda hit home for me

even if it's not said officially the 3rd relaunch isnt movie based, dont be surprised if it might actually turn out that way. I would like to see a same movie quality hour long TMNT series set for the early evening hours not saturday morning crap. but i'm dreaming, i know.

Yes you are because the transition from the big screen to small would lose allot.
That's one of the exact reasons I don't want the movie world to come to the small screen.

The animation of the movie would never be done on the small-screen. They'd lose far too much money.

Considering so little OF cartoons are "crap", I don't know what you're talking about.

Really?...why?.....Beast Wars did it for 3 seasons....as well as Reboot.

Id love if the cartoon series took on the CGI look from the movie....or at least something really close too it,since it would cost a bit more.
