TMNT Engine is a project that I have been working on since 2006 to recreate Konami's 1989 Classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade game from scratch using ripped graphics and coded in Multimedia Fusion 2.
It features 2 new levels, a dojo stage to mess about and "spawn" enemies. It also features a online score table. Good stuff. Plays a bit differently than the original arcade game but it's a great reproduction of it. It gives me hope that, with this engine, other original TMNT-based projects can be done.

lol, Jesus: The Arcade Game reached the demo stages, but is no longer in production. Its a perfect example of an original game that can be made with the TMNT Engine. Which can be found for download here. It's "wonderfully politically incorrect" http://www.jsofts.com/jesus/jesusthearcadegame.zip (7mb ) ![]() ![]() ![]()

Will there be any way, once this is complete, to play "cut-and-paste" or have some sort of editing tool for people who are programming impaired?

Many have requested that the program be open-source but as of yet there is no intention of it being so.
However there may be a way of creating a basic select the background and stick the baddies on idea (but you could only use the already programmed content) but that would need to be coded completely seperate for it to possibly work as the coding requires loads of invisible objects and detectors, but its not out of the question. |

Is there any chance you could do an engine of "Turtles in Time" next? Would love to have it!

Very cool, but if it's just nothing more or less than a recreation of the arcade game with the same graphics... what would make someone be interested in this, rather than just quickly downloading the TMNT arcade game's ROMs off the internet and playing it arcade-perfect on MAME?

Why don't you just play the real arcade game or use emulators? I still do play the arcade game, as I own the arcade machine, but I'm doing this to pay homage to the game and it has been somthing I've wanted to do for a long long time. Unlike emulators this allowes me to add my own material to the game, new characters, levels, attacks, props everything and anything. Building the engine is the first step, and what better way to make it perfect than to make it nearly exactly the way it is. |

I think it would be fun to make a Mirage version of the TMNT arcade game. Remove the letters from the belts, make all the bandannas red, make the Foot look like the Mirage Foot (and make them human), add in blood, etc..

It's not a bad Idea, The essence of it at least. I would love to see a Diablo II Lord of Destruction TMNT themed mod.

Well, why not just play the original arcade version? But I guess one must try to recreate the classics of arcade beat em' up. The Jesus Arcade game seems a bit out there, but It's just as well seeing how the engine can be used. I'm sure if Jesus knew he died for idiots that didn't care for what he was about then he prolly would be out to smack around those guys that didn't care. So I guess in theory, the fan game would be correct, for the most part.

Looks cool. Will be nice to have a remake of the Arcade game that is more fitting than the NES one.

I downloaded it and played it and I did enjoy it, but I have a weird little glitch every so often that causes the game to shut down. You see, sometimes the villains disappear completely and Leonardo can walk all over the screen including the walls, and the game does not progress.'
I'm probably the only one that had this problem, but I just wanted to give you a heads up.

The wall problem has been there since version 1, it when walking on two seperate axis designed to block you from going out of screen (this is most noticable with the diagnol wall at the end of level 1). |

I also downloaded it, played it, enjoyed it, and got the glitch. Aside from that, though, it was cool. Nice job.
