5 years of the NT! (late)
I'm 8 days late, but 5 years and 8 days ago we got our first glimpse at the new TMNT cartoon series.
Things change was an amazing episode, I couldn't believe it was real after I watched it. It still holds up as a good episode to this day. Rejoice, share stories, etc. etc. |

Man, I remember being so excited when I first found out there would be a new TMNT cartoon.
I was so sad when the original cartoon ended and the fact that from 1997 all we got was the Next Mutation wasn't helping matters. From 1998-2002 I wasn't into TMNT much besides the start of Volume 4, so I pretty much consider that era to be the "dead years" before the franchise came back fully in 2003. |

5 years, 7 Seasons (including the "lost" season and the fact that FF was actually 2 production seasons). Anyway, this is pretty much a milestone now, since half the other cartoon shows on the air last 2-3 years before someone puts a production cap on them. God, I hate that.

Does any one remember the little count down clock they had?
I watched alot of FoxBox once I learned that TMNT was gonna be on eventually. I'd sit through **** like Cramp Twins, Ultimate Muscle, Fighting Foodons, Ultraman Tiga... yea. But they'd show that count down with a bunch of small clips from the show on the side and it was amazing. They'd also show the theme song occasionally. |

I didn't even know there was going to be a new series until like the day before it first aired. I saw a promo for it like friday afternoon or something and woke up the next day and recorded it. I couldn't believe the turtles had come back. It was great.

I remember watching the countdown clock, and seeing those fake news briefs. That sh!t got me so excited. I remember being stuck in some workshop for college the saturday that Things Change aired, and I couldn't wait to get home and watch the tape. I think I watched that episode like 8 times till the following saturday. I think I watched the first 5 episodes like 4 times or more within a week because not only do I think they're good episodes, but it was soo awesome to have the Ninja Turtles back.
It's great. The Turtles have been going strong for 5 years now. I'm just happy to have experienced the Turtles-phenom twice in my life.

Unlike everyone else here, I came across the 2k3 series by accident while I was channel surfing at 7:00am in the holidays, and with nothing to do. Sure, it was half way through the second episode, and I didn't know what the hell was going on, but it was one of the best things I had seen on the television in years, so I stuck around. And I'm glad I did. I got to meet all of you, right?
My hats off to everyone working on the new toon as of now. Even though I didn't (and still don't) like Fast Forward, I'm still glad to see the cartoon thriving for so long.

Oh boy, when I think about it, it really was a long time ago. 5 years...wow. This was when I was in 7th grade. I remember me and my brother were so excited when we heard that ninja turtles was coming back. We looked on the tmnt and Foxbox website to look for pictures, but they'd only show their silhouettes. I still remember me and my bro waking up 7:30 am that Saturday morning and watching every episode on Foxbox until ninja turtles started. We even taped it on vhs. It was such a joyous memory. One I'll never forget. I really do miss the early 2k3 series. *sigh* I loved Foxbox so much. It was like Fox Kids in the 90's. Now they crapped it up by changing the name to 4kids tv. Something that I also realized was that back in the 90's for kids television shows, a lot of the shows were live action, but now everything is practically cartoon. *sighs again* I do miss the 90's. That's where my childhood is, and ninja turtles is definitely part of it.
Things Change.

I was in the 6th grade, I'm an odd turtle fan since I was born after the initial peak of popularity. None of my freinds gave a **** about TMNT, and I didn't have any older friends in middle school, so other than my couisns I had no one to geek out with.
Another memory, The toys for the series came on about a month before the show, and I got all four turtles the first time I saw them and was amazed. P.S. What's with the **** level of responses here? |

True, but this is more of a 'Happy 5th, 2K3!
' thread. As for me, I wanted to add to the thread. I just didn't know what to say.

...I just like being nostalgic and thanking the show for bringing me here...
Well, not many people on the forums are continuing to watch the "2k3" series like they used to, which probably explains the lack of response. But I'm sure a few others are out there going to celebrate this little piece of TMNT history as well.

My memory of TMNT coming back was when I was at Wal-Mart with my mom. We were looking for a Star Wars figure for my sister's former fiance. I was looking at the wrestling figures and then I turned and saw the TMNT ones. I couldn't believe the Turtles were back! Then, when I went to college the next day one of my friends said they were back on TV. I tuned in on Saturday and saw "Meet Casey Jones." I was excited, and now I'm happy that the Turtles have lasted this long.
Happy fifth anniversary, 2K3. |

When 2k3 started, I had long since sold off all my Turtle comics and "forgotten" about them, and my husband had never gotten the appeal. But then he saw an ad on TV advertising the new show and asked me if I wanted him to tape it for me. I told him "No, thanks; I'm through with Turtles."
I came home from work that Saturday and he had a tape out labelled TMNT. "What?" I said. "I told you not to bother taping it." "I know," he replied, "but I didn't tape it for you, I taped it for me." I love my husband! Oh, and needless to say, I ended up watching the show too..... |

I first found out about 2k3 when I was channel surfing at my brother's apartment (I do not have cable). I was afraid it would be one of those "all style and no substance" shows- that it would be mainly action and fights and no plot. But otherwise I did not pay it much thought.
Fast forward almost a year. I watch the movie- love it. I come to the Drome. I watch a few episodes of 2k3 on YouTube. I win the first 4 seasons on Ebay. It is now my favorite TMNT universe.
