Wal-Mart phasing out 2K3 DVDs?

I purchased every single release Funimation threw at us and although I swore I would never buy the season sets, the fan in me cried out to have them all in one place...much to the dismay of my fiance I purchased S1 V1 & V2 last year.

However, I searched for TMNT Season 2 Vol.1 at three different Wal-Marts in the area and neither one had the new DVD but I noticed something more disturbing. Each store was devoid of any of the 2K3 releases. The only things on the shelf were Season 5 of the original toon. To make matters worse, the Best Buy in my area had gotten rid of their 2K3 DVDs as well. I highly doubt these stores sold out their stock so what happened? I did eventually just buy S2 V1 off of Amazon but it's scary to see this happen as Wal-Mart is the leading seller of DVDs and Funimation would notice that obviously.

It just came out Wal-mart has been later than everyone else anymore.
It's a wonder the poles are so low for the store, it's because 1 the people that work there are hardly friendly anymore, I say hi to the door person more than they say hi to me, secondly they hardly ever stock their shelves, and I've found lately that other stores have been having even better prices than wal-mart.
You don't find it at one place another is always going to have it, some times you just have to wait.

Y'know, I have a bit of arant about that kinda' crap.

Normally, when a new DVD comes out that I want to buy, I always just end up getting it online so that I don't have to go to Wal-Mart (I despise that place between the hours of 8AM and 11:30PM). Then, for some reason, I always end up having to go to Wal-Mart anyway while I'm waiting on what I ordered online to get to me. Usually, while out getting other things, I always run into the DVD at the store and go "Damn it! I should'a waited a day or so on ordering and just bought it here! Now I have to wait a few more days!"

This happens when going into places like FYE also (the only other place for DVDs besides Wal-Mart that's within an hour of me).

Well, for TMNT2k3 S2P1, I decided to be intelligent and just wait it out because I needed to go to both FYE and Wal-Mart the weekend after the DVD was released (i.e. this past weekend). Why order it online when I can just pick it up, right? Wrong! I go to both stores after not ordering the DVDs online and neither place has them! FYE thought they had a copy but they were apparently wrong. Wal-Mart, like NIN's situation, didn't have any TMNT DVDs! No oldschool. No newschool. Nothing.

Now, I'm sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for my really large order of "Tales" back issues to arrive and I have nothing new to hold me over until then.

Okay, rant over. Thanks. I feel your pain, NIN.

Like I said Wal-mart is has recently been the last place to get this stuff as of late, they or target will have it soon I'm sure.
The only place I've been that has it so far is bestbuy.
And if you guys are worried about saving money then just wait a few more weeks.
If you want the dvd that bad you will either get it at bestbuy or order it online.

I've check 2 different Targets, 2 Wal-Marts and a Best Buy. None of them had it. And now it's pissing me off.

I know most store employees are in the dark when it comes to turtles but it would be helpfull to call ahead.

Well it was more like my travels brought me to those stores. With gas prices the way they are, I don't go anywhere if it's out of the way. It just so happens that where I live I have 4 Wal-Marts, 3 Targets and 2 Best Buys all within a 20-30 minute drive.

Well also you guys should factor in that no one on here has seen them at wal-mart, and if I remember correctly Target didn't even get either part of season 1 but perhaps I just forgot.
It's odd that your bestbuy didn't have it though they are the only store that I can count on with being on time or even early with dvd's.

deepdiscountdvd.com - Free shipping with no minimum purchase.

Yeah, it can take hella long to get, but I generally don't mind. Especially since it saves all those wasted trips to 5 different retailers.

I was at my cousins house the other day and decided to go to his local wal-mart to pick it up, but all they had was 4 copies of Season 4 (yes, not even season 5) then on to the FYE, they had one copy for about 17 bucks... not happening.

Then my local wal-mart ALWAYS had some FF, TMNT, a few season 4's and 5's and a NT season 1 part 2. But I went a few days ago and all they had was TMNT... I was pissed and depressed.

So yeah, I think they are phasing them out for some reason. This really worries my, because I'll be mad pissed if they quit the re-release mid series.

I did see what you said, but the fact that my wal-mart removed all TMNT animation (and the other one had no NT at all) got me sorta suspicious.

I went to a wal-mart the other night and the entire store looked as if it had been hit by hurricane katrina. Not sure if that says anything for ya..wal-mart is seriously going down hill.
I'm really not trying to be a jerk btw but I'm getting a bit irked when the dvd's only been out a week and people are freaking out about it not being at wal-mart, when wal-mart has been the last place to get all tmnt releases as of late.

What bothers me about Wal-Mart (besides what Putrescent already mentioned) is the fact that they seem to be in the middle of a change in their electronics department. I checked at least 3 different Wal-Marts last week for S2P1 and each one was in bad shape. Hardly any dvd's on display, boxes of stuff everywhere, and hardly any help in trying to locate something.

I actually liked the way that they had their dvd's set up before. I knew exactly where to look.

Their not lying. Walmart is phasing out TMNT 2k3 releases. Its the same case with my Walmart. Every time I went there before they had plenty of copies laying around. This past week there was absolutly no 2k3 dvds. I checked their dvd release sheets and TMNT season 2 part one was no where to be found. I checked those little stickers on the shelves that tell you how much the dvds are and Walmart removed all the 2k3 ones and replaced them with other stickers.

This a dark time indeed.

I dunno, Walmarts tend to vary. The one out here where I'm going to school is always really late on 2k3. And then they only order a few copies. Gets kinda annoying. Whereas, the one back home in Ohio is usually a bit late but stocks well enough. When I was visiting for Christmas, they had a couple old toon sets on the shelves along with both Fast Fowards and both halves of Season One.

If course, it could have changed since then, but my experience has been Walmart isn't the same everywhere.

Allot of the Wal-mart I've been to have been the same way but like with the entire store it's really bad looking and kind of creepy it almost looks like they're going out of business, their employees need to get their act together.

ummm who said anyone was lying?
Has Wal-mart made any statement that they are officialy phasing out Ninja Turtles dvds? No? I didn't think so.
You guys always jump to conclusions so quickly, how about for once we don't press the panic button and sit and wait.
If they come out they do, if they don't so what. I really don't see what the big deal is.
Also if they aren't selling you can't blame them for getting rid of them.
You guys are seriously over reacting to this entire thing...

Yes, This is true Masked most Wal-mart are differnt, because each store has a differnt person running that section, I was in canton ohio recently to fix my aunts grave and they have 2 wal-marts right by one another.
1 had all the new alien hunter figures and a huge dvd section with both FF dvd's and season 1 pt 2.
The 2nd wal-mart had like a few mini-mutants and a few first wave figures and i think 1 or 2 FF dvds.
And wal-mart like I've been saying is THHHEE slowest store to stock anything be it food, clothing, toys, or dvds.
