Looking for Early Original Comic Art

I've discussed this with a few people already, but I figured I'd post here for the masses...

As the title implies, I'm on the hunt for early TMNT art (and by early, I'm looking at basically the first 11 issues + micros, though I'd count up to about issue 15 as well). Not nessarily to buy (though I'd be interested) but mainly just to find what art is currently out there. As some know, eastman and laird gave away alot of this art during their early tours to family and friends and most of it seems to have stayed with them. However, some pieces have trickled onto the market.

I know Dromers for the most part don't seem to be too much into the art as collectors, but I figured I give it a shot. This is just something that interests me, esp. since I've gotten more interested in art collecting. Most pieces seem to be tucked away, and the few that are out there command quite the premium.

More than anything, I'd like to know of any pages/covers you may seen (or own) over the years, either for sale at conventions, ebay, etc. Pictures would be great, but it be a great start for just some confirmation. ANY info would be great!! Thnx

I own an original art from TMNT #5...It is Fugitoid's origin page where he's getting struck by lightning. Alas, there are no Turtles on the page, but still an awesome page!

Very cool man! That is a pretty neat page. Do you have a photo you wouldn't mind sharing? Ebay find (if you don't mind me asking)?

I don't have a pic but I'll take one. Yeah, I got it on ebay in the early '00s!

Also, I know a majority of early TMNT art was owned by Eastman until he recently sold it on Ebay. I think this was all of the original art from #1.

Yea, eastman sold all the art for #1 (cover, interior art, and some early ads) for a nice $250,000...not a bad chunk of change

I've bought two Tales volume 1 pages on eBay. I remember finding a page from an early volume 1 issue there a couple of years ago, and bidding on it (despite not having much money at the time...) but was quickly outbid.

Cool man. Never seen any early Tales pages. Any pics? Do you know what issue, pages they are?

Also, do you happen to remember what issue that was you saw a while back that you lost out bidding on?

The first page:

I notice now that I don't have a photo of the other uploaded to Photobucket. It's from the Rat King issue, when the Turtles and Casey walk around the complex, right before Michaelangelo is attacked.

Speaking of original art. I bid on the 1986 Eastman pinup on eBay last week, but it ended up quite higher than I expected...
