Will the turles become ninjitsu masters at series end?

Do you think its possible that they will, or at least, begin their training for mastership?

I think it would be a fitting way to end the series if it does happen. They are mid-level ninja now. Yet they have achieved many feats, feats that even some ninjitsu masters have not accomplished, like saving the world and defeating the shredder (utrom and mystic).

I think the tribunal were right back in 'Fathers and Sons,' when they said that the turtles were unique. This was back when the guys were only children.

Its obvious they are no ordinary mid-level ninjas, so I think it would be fitting if they were to become ninjitsu masters at a young age, or at least begin training for it with the tribunal.

A fitting ending would be for them to become masters or start training for it. It should be a point where the guys are no longer kids anymore and wouldn't need Splinter to guide them, anymore. IMO, it would be sweet if they went to that next level, where they not only become fully trained ninjas, they become masters as well.

Remember, in the comics, the guys eventually became ninjitsu masters. Heck, Leo was training several people in the ways of ninjitsu, in the comics. So I think it would be fitting for the guys to achieve that feat at the end of the series.

What do you guys think?

Leo was training others in Ninjitsu in the comic...the Archie comic, that is.

And I think Archie did a better job of showing the Turtles' future than Mirage has so far.

Back into the topic, I do think this would be a very good conclusion to the NT.

Either all 4 Turtles could become Masters- and they could all take the test for Jounin and face differing challenges according to their personalities and weaknesses.

Or maybe not all 4 decide to pursue that path. I'm positive Leonardo will for sure. And Raphael may choose to as well, but for different reasons than Leo. Or he may choose to go his own way, given the rebel he is. Michelangelo has the athletic ability to endure the training- but does he have the motivation and discipline? And I can see Donatello as the likeliest to pursue his own individual path, even if it is not the way of his family.

It's something that I would almost prefer to coincide as close as possible to Splinter's death - so there's a "passing on the torch" kind of thing there. I agree that Leo and Raph would definitely want to do it (though their style as always would be very different), Mike would want to and definitely could if he kept up with training, and Don would be more likely to do it to please and honor Splinter than because he really wants to be a ninjutsu master for himself.

I know lots of you would really hate to see Splinter's death covered in the show (and because season 4 was omg too dark we may not be able to even get close to something like that with the censors) but if they did it as a way to end the show, with the ailing Splinter overseeing his sons' advancement to ninja master, that could be a cool way for it to go out.

They could easily give a nod at the first movie and end the show at the same time. Here is how I see it.
___

* Last few episodes Splinter is sick until eventually he is to weak to stay conscious

* Between their last few adventures the Turtles and Friends try to figure a way to get Splinter better.

* At the end of the last episode (or second to last episode) Everyone Meditates to talk to Splinter by spirit and Splinter tells in a almost identical setting as in the original movie he loves everyone and that there is no more he can teach the turtles. He could also say although he is not their is the phsyical sence he is in their heart forever.

(Option 1)
* Quick Flash-Forward sequence showing the future of everyone's life

(Option 2)
* Very last episode would consecrate on what happens in everyone's future with a scene of the turtles visiting Splinters grave, April Casey getting married, Turtles future, and at the end past seasons stills being shown in a photo album April closes and saying the end to her kid(s) along with Casey also on the couch with them. We then see the image on the front of the album which shows a family portrait of the Turtles, Splinter, Caey and April.

Ending with them being masters, now that would be the perfect way to end the series...that's how they ended the last one.

Character driven storylines have been the theme of 2k3 turtles. Them becoming ninjitsu masters at series end would be fitting for them and their character development.

since this show does somewhat follow the comics, I say they have to do it. Besides, the comics has Leo as a ninjitsu master, training other students.

I think it would work well if we can see them mature the rest of the way in the upcoming season. I'm still wondering what kind of tone the new season will roll. I hope it stays similar to previous seasons.

If the show lightens up and the characters regress (Laird forbid) it would really cheapen the ceremony for me.
If the turtles continue to learn and grow, I wouldn't mind seeing them as masters.
