is it just me or

is this going to be the longest lasting tmnt show so far? i mean, think about it. the old toon made enough money in marketing but "it was too violent for tv". This toon is getting good ratings, has a good storyline, and the marketing is great, and most of the stuff on tv today is violent, way more violent than classic cartoons. in the new toon leo got stabbed and its two seasons past that and they're still showing it. they are also trying to hold off the violence a little because they discontinued like 3 episodes becuase of violence or something. They are also showing the FF on the cw4kids, and the 2k3 show on 4kidstv. and theyre on two different channels now which means that if one of them cuts off the show the other one can continue it. it also has been showing for 5 years now with 143 episodes, which the ot came in with about 196 episodes. so what is your opinion for this? please answer with a response of your thoughts about this.

I am a HUGE fan of the OT, I mean, it was my intro to the Turtles waaay back so how could I dismiss it? In a time when toons were lucky to last one season, it lasted nearly a decade, even if the production quality sometimes got a bit skimpy. I certainly didn't notice the difference at 5-10 years old.

As an adult, with my improved TMNT comics knowledge, I love the 2K3 series and the way it has more closely followed the original, grittier vision of Mirage Volume 1. I even liked FF since the more humorous aspects seem reminiscent of the OT at its finest. All of that said, I would really like to see the new series outlast the old one, and it seems it just may.

In fact, I hope I never see a time ever again that a TMNT cartoon (of some kind) is not on the air. I'm a little wary of the new "reboot", I wish they could just go back to 2k3 EXACTLY how it was before FF... but as long as the TMNT are still around at all, I'm a happy camper.

It's just you. It needs to stay in production another five years or have another 52 e ps before being longer-lasting than the classic 'toon. But, in my opinion, it does have more potential to outlast the others.

4kids bought out the CW for 5 years, so TMNT could potentially run throughout those years. Just hope Playmates toy sales remain on top and a new movie comes out to boost interest in the franchise.

I do think the show could come around to close to 200 eps before it ends.

One thing to also remember is that the new toon is more popular going into it's seventh season than the old toon was going into IT'S seventh season.

But yeah, I honestly hope 2K3 gets to surpass the original series.

First and foremost, I hope Back to the Sewer will have better characterizations and overall writing than Fast Forward. On the other hand if it doesn't, cancellation won't hurt as much, but I think I'd rather have one season of TMNT done right than ten seasons of Mikey being stupid and annoying, Raph being grouchy for no reason, Don being completely emotionless and Leo spitting stupid catchphrases, all while hanging out with a kid sidekick IN BROAD DAYLIGHT WITH GLOWING TOYS (shadow warriors, anyone?) and squabbling with his unpractically shaped robot servant. And "it's ninja time"? Come on. At least "Be ready for anything" had a practical purpose and was taken from the comics. "It's ninja time" is just straight up silly. ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY'RE NOT EVEN NINJAS ANYMORE. I guess what I'm saying is I hope they throw out the bad writers and get some writers who know how to get into the minds of the characters and who understand why it's called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and not "Pre-School Mutant Glowing Superhero Turtles".
But yeah, it would be awesome if the show could go on for a long time. Even better if it would grow up just a little bit though.

Hey, if Vanilla Ice and Partners in Kryme can do it, so can I.

I'd say it would be sooner to see 52 episodes than it would to see 5 more years. Of course, that's if they go back and make it 26 episodes per season again.
