Chris Allan emailed me back
I'll just quote what he said about where the #71-#75 tmnt archie series might have gone, and I hope he doesn't mind that I let you guys in on that much.
As to your question regarding the last few issues of TMNT, I'll tell you what I know. Steve always had an idea where stories were going, but didn't always share them with me. If I made a suggestion that he thought was cool, we'd put it in together. Near the end, the stories had a real collaborative feel. Having said that, I don't know where the last four issues were going to go, other than clues provided by the covers. I can tell you that in issue 71, the gang travels once again to the future after being summoned by a dying Raphael. He'd been attacked by the present Shredder, who stole the time-slip technology and used it to go back in time and prevent the turtles from ever falling into the mutagen. However, because, Raph pulled them to the future before the timeline became affected and sent them back after the change, they were unaffected by the radically different NYC. An NYC now ruled by the Shredder! Cliffhanger ending. He also told me he would love to do some more Ninjara based stories on his website, but he would need to contact Steve Murphy (The writer) before he could. I remember someone saying that they had contacted archie comics (darthsmothers I think) and was told they had lost contact with him. I suggested he actually contact mirage about doing a guest comic or something. I know I'd love to see more of his artwork for tmnt. |

That sounds like a good ending. I was so dissappointed when the Archie series was suddenly cut off. Poo.

I'm doing an email interview with Chris Allan
I recently asked Chris Allan if he'd let me interview him (mainly about TMNT) via email and he said yes. Once I've got some answers from him, I'll put a link to the interview on my sig.

Can you ask him about Wyrm & Scumbug and how they came back? Did Ninjara return to help them? Was Golani, Katmundu & Al Faqua helping as well? And was Shrdder workinb by himself again?

Well, those are among the things I was planning to ask about.

Judging by some of the covers of the later Archie TMNT issues and Specials I must say that they look quite interesting. I stopped collecting by the mid 30s, I believe, and I wasn't terribly impressed. Even the better of the ongoing stories were okay at best. But judging by the reactions of several posters and some of the covers, it seems like the series got quite a bit better as it went along. I would be curious to read some, but I'm not about to go tracking them down (I'm having enough trouble tracking down the Mirage series as it is).
