Collecting software?

Can anyone recommend good, and also free, software for keeping track of my TMNT figure collection?

I've googled it and didn't turn up anything I liked. It would be a serious plus if I could have pictures of all my figures. I had some on my old computer, but my hard drive was fried and I do not remember the name of the software

My collection is pretty huge and, unfortunately, just stored in boxes in a closet for lack of a good place to display. I need something that will help me keep track of variants, and maybe even some sort of a want list feature for things I especially hope to obtain.

If I ABSOLUTELY have to, I guess I'd be willing to pay for one, but of all these $20-30 options like Visual Packrat and Action Figure Collector, can anyone who has used these let me know if they've been satisfied?

Yes it's an old one but it's called a pencil and paper.

I use a Corel word processor program for mine; it's not free though. I imagine you can find freeware spreadsheet/database programs if you look around.

If you've got the know-how, a web page isn't a bad way to go about it either. There are lots of free web page utilities on the web.

So thanks for the tips folks, but after a couple days of searching, I rediscovered the program I used before my old hard drive crashed. The real bonus for me here, is that this program lets me use pictures, so that I can still look at the figures that I am forced to keep boxed in a closet. And of course, it's FREE.

It's simple, easy-to-use, and something about this tree-style format really seems to work for me. This time around, I am setting it up not just to keep track of what I've already got, but to use as a sort of virtual checklist for the entire vintage line 88-99, including all variations and re-releases, but not The Next Mutation, which I never liked.

This is pretty ambitious, I know, and might take me a million years, but well worth it, since when I am done, I'll be able to know really quickly what I've got, what I need, and be able to share this info with anyone else who uses this program.

I highly recommend giving it a shot if like me, your TMNT collection is out of control.

That is really awesome. I've been meaning to do inventory on my collection as well. And you are right, it is going to take a long time, but definitely worth it. Thanks for posting this!

My only complaint with it is that I have to make separate entries if I have a figure in varied conditions (i.e., loose and carded).
