2K3 Stage Show

There is a 2K3 stage show that has been running at the Royal Melbourne Show. It had a 2K3 voice cast recording, and some costumes I hadn't seen before. Tristan was writing a script for it....is that what was used, Tristan? It was appropriately environmental and appropriate to the turtle's personalities anwyays, and was pretty fun. Highlight was the turtles dancing to Ninja Rap. And wow, the kids were pumped! Lots of TMNT plushies and cute little TMNT t-shirts around. In the photo session, a few little guys were just blown away by hanging out with the turtles!
Here's the turtles (not pictured is April, who was a live local)

and here's a candid shot I like during their meet n greet:P9270042.jpg

Wow...Those are different than the ones that were touring with Disney a couple years back. Those ones had the teeth showing, these ones apperantly have toothless smiles.

Now is this in Melbourn, Australia or Florida??

I think the Turtles are clearly showing their age here. Look at those wrinkled foreheads!

I don't think it's age. I think it's clearly eyebrow steroids.

Wish they could come to Dallas soon. It would be so cool if it was my birthday (October 2).

Don't worry folks. The TMNT will be doing some touring for the 25th annaversary. I for one can't wait and hope it's all 4 turtles at the locations instead of just 2. I mean yeah it's nice that I've met Don and Mike (especially Don ) but I wanna meet Raph!!

Melbourne, Australia.
And this is the first time this show was done, but i would expect it would pop up in the other states over Christmas holidays or something.

My dad met Raph and Leo many many moons ago in Vegas at the grand opening of a Toys R Us. This was around 1990 if I remember correctly.

More answers:

These have teeth. The shots and angles of heads don't really let you see them as a dentist might, but you can still see them!

Yes, I wrote this. Well, more like rewrote. The first script that was handed in was atrocious, and they clearly knew nothing about the Turtles. They wrote in that the Turtles had a human sensei and all sorts of **** that just didn't make any sort of sense. Even a kid who only has a basic understanding of the show would know that Splinter and April are key characters with a purpose, and smashing the two together in the form of a human sensei was all sorts of wrong. I took it and made it something that did the brand justice but still kept kids entertained for a good few minutes (enough for the parents to grab a drink and a bite to eat).

In all honesty I strongly suggested throwing away the song choices, which were all terrible late 80's and 90's hip hop acts. As did Gary Richardson. Both our suggestions were promptly ignored. We wanted something more current...

Still, it was for kids, and as long as they enjoyed it, that's what matters. Actually, the fact that I got paid also matters, as that became something of a battle (nothing to do with Mirage though).

The results can be seen here:

I did what I could.

After seeing those YouTube videos, it was cheesy to see TMNT dancing.

Now you know why I like for them to play instruments.

You really can't beat the awesomeness that was the MGM Turtles Stage Show:

Good quality video from the front row.

A different stage. I like the other one better.

Filmed by a staffer and featuring the Turtle Van and "Ninja Rap"! You gotta love how even the staff lady gets into it at 1:19! I think those shells could use some better support though...

More behind the scenes from an MGM staffer [kinda creepy near the end]. Awesome sky cam starts at 1:05! April O'Neil dances at 1:36. Violence ensues at 1:45! Raph misses the "bus" at 1:53

Thanks for sharing that one with us... it's a story I don't think any turtle fan will ever forget.

And let's not forget how cheesy stage shows usually are... where else do you see Bugs Bunny, Elmo, or Goofy overly exaggerate their movements when they're talking quitely or seriously?

Still... I missed a day at a Mall where they had Donny and Mikey a couple years back, and I never lived that down....
