Tales of the TMNT 52

Midtown's listing this as coming out Wednesday Nov 12th.

I just have a couple things to say about this issue:

Utroms
Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa
CUDDLY THE COWLICK! CUDDLY THE COWLICK! CUDDLY THE COWLICK!!!

Looks like I changed my username just in time.

I actually just picked up the previous two installments of this story while setting up my subscription service at the local comic shop. (Now I have no reason to miss an issue of Tales.)

Looky! Mirage put a preview up with pics that includes Cuddly. He looks slightly confused. No idea what he's saying (the words are too small).

"...Cudley the Transdimensional Cowlick"
"Hello everyone"
"I think I caught a contact buzz from whatever was in that dude's pipe."
"Woah, I'm having some sort of weird deja vu."
"Uh, howdy?"
"There's a reason for your deja vu, Donatello. I'll tell you more about it when we have more free time."
"Time eh? This is all about time."
"Please allow me a moment to summon forth my third eye to scan across the group consciousness of our shared landscape."

Guaranteed 99% accurate.

I think the best thing about this is that on his blog Ryan Brown says that Peter Laird suggested them using Cudley!

I liked it though I thought Cudley was underused. I'm looking forward to the continuation of this story in #58.

Despite all the bovine related puns, I thought there was one very glaring ommision:

"Cow"-abunga!

The front cover to this issue has some of the best use of color I've seen in some time for this series, major points go to Steve Lavigne.
Once again loving the Michael Dooney art at the start, seriously have the guy do an entire damn issue already!!!
Dario's art still remians some of my new favorite TMNT art of this series, I'd love it if they given him a title to draw sort of like Archie Adventures TMNT but based on the new show.
Hah man Murph sure knows how to write em' and I'm not even saying that because we're friends, I seriously am a big fan of Dan's work but I miss Murph behind this title. I laughed out loud at Raph's comment to Don & the Utrom.
Ok seriously Cudley knew Don's name and hinted that they have crossed paths before, great now we need that adventure *hint *hint* make it happen mirage* Hint*
Wow I really enjoyed this and am I the only one who is reminded of the Frogs from the old toon when they read the Cowboys dialect?
I really want to know more about this group of bad Utroms.
I never really was a big fan of the Cowboys, but I'm seriously enjoying this and can't wait for issue #58 & I hope we see Cudley again soon!

Ah, yes, entirely slipped my mind! I had my guard down by the time I got to the pin-up page. Congratulations on having your work published, Adam.

Since I won't even be able to go check my subscriptions for some time, let alone find out if and when this issue will come in (I never got the other C.O.W.Boy crossovers....), someone want to give me the gist of the C.O.W.Boy Utrom on the cover?

Got to admit, I agree. While I don't terribly mind the ongoing crossovers with the COWboys of Moo Mesa, to be absolutely honest the main thing that intrigued me with this storyline was what was going to be done with Cudley the Cowlick. In that regard, I was very disappointed. He comes off feeling like an afterthought here, though the jury's still out until the next issue.

Art was very slick.

Perhaps Cudley really was an afterthought, since Ryan's blog suggested the story could have been generally established before Peter Larid suggested that Cudley fill one of plot points. Maybe Cudley was just the "we need an explanation for transdimensional space travel." Would that have contributed to his low-profile in this issue?

Moo Mesa!
I hope we see more of him come #58.

Also, does anybody else think it is entirely fitting that this is a Raph and Donny adventure (albeit with Casey and Glurin along for the ride)? The first Archie/Mirage crossover stars the two turtles who had the most character development in the Archie series.

I never watched COWboys so this ish didn't do much for me in that regard. The Utrom cow dude was interesting, though! The art was quite nice as well.
