Unfortunately, I don't get a chance to visit this forum very often, even though it looks like it's a fandom where I could *definitely* fit in...

Anyway, I've been doing a lot of TMNT projects lately, and I wanted to show them off somewhere (other than the Transformers newsgroups, heh).

My most recent ones include a cartoon version of Slash, the evil turtle from Dimension X. I totally redid the toy's face and gave him a new coat of paint to make him look more like he did in the show:

Next, we have a more show-accurate version of Metalhead. Again, I was trying to more closely match his cartoon appearance as seen in "The Making of Metalhead," so I got rid of some of the extra details and gave him a new coat of paint:

Then there's my cartoon version of General Traag. I got rid of all those creatures crawing over him and repainted him to mimic the colors the animators gave him in "Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X." I'm very pleased with this one:

That's it for the recent stuff. A couple of months ago, though, I completed my most ambition TMNT project to date--constructing a completely new, much larger version of Leatherhead. This one is *not* based on the original toy, and looks much more like his cartoon incarnation. If you only visit one of my links today, please check this one:

I also came up with a new cloth costume for Usagi Yojimbo, since the toy didn't look anything like his appearance from "Usagi Yojimbo" and "Usagi Come Home." You can find it here:

http://members.fortunecity.com/zobov...o_kitbash.html

Finally, for the Mirage Comics fans, I have a modified version of the Fugitoid toy, having gotten rid of all those doodads and things on him and giving him a new silver coat of paint to make him look like the comics version:

Any and all feedback would be appreciated, either here or by e-mail.
And, out of curiosity, are there *any* other TMNT customizers out there? I know this site has a Shredder custom in the Miscellaneous section, but other than that I don't immediately recall seeing any others. Surely I can't be the *only* TMNT fan who wants his toys to look like their show appearances...?

Well, anyway. I've got a few more TMNT customs online, too. I've posted links to them here before, but I don't think all the links were working properly. They *should* be now, though. Just go to my site and click the kitbashes link to get there:

Thanks for looking! (Feedback, people. Please. It really does mean a lot to me!)

Hello and welcome!

I looked through all your custom work and I have to say I think you have a real talent there. I know if I tried anything like that then I would end up with a heap of molten plastic. Maybe you should go into the action figure business!

Oh wow... so kitbashing is what they call it when one remakes an action figure. That's cool. You did some nice work making what was there even more true to form. What I thought would be neat, is to have a before and after pictures so we can see just how much you changed them.

I used to customize Breyer model horses, but unfortunately I couldn't take a picture of some of the better work I did for other people cause I didn't have a good zoom camera.

I then looked at my figures, and painted the shells, made leather belts and realistic weapons for my Movie Star Turtles. Then life got busy and I haven't done anymore. But here's a pic of Mike...

Welcome, Zobovor!

Oy, that's some awesome stuff!! You've definitely got talent. I don't even wanna try anything with my action figs, for fear that I may break them

And HT, the link you gave has that horrid Tripod logo. Did you give the wrong link?

I do have pictures of the unaltered toys on most of my custom pages... unless you mean taking a photo of both toys, side by side? I could do that with some of them, but not *all* the toys I've modified were doubles.

Wow, that's excellent. If you hadn't told me that was a custom job, I'd swear that's a screen shot from Movie III.

oh yeah... Tripod is picky about externally linking images. You'll have to cut and paste the link for it to work... or just go to my art page and click on the Samurai Mike pick on right at the bottom. ;P

Zobovor - yeah... I meant by having the before and after pics in the general vacinity. But you do what you want!
