A Few Questions

Hi all. I'm new to the board, but by no means am I new to TMNT. I've been a dedicated fan since I can remember and I'm 19 now so I grew up with it.

I do have some questions regarding the original cartoon series. I was hoping some of you could help me with the answers.

1. At what point did Michelangelo stop using nunchuks in favor of the grappling hook? Which episode? Was it mentioned? Why? (I personally liked the nunchukus a lot, and I feel that the grappling hook is something that should be made universal among the four of them.)

2. At what point did Krang revert back to his little walker? What happened to his android body? Which episode was it last seen in? Was it mentioned that he wouldn't be in it anymore? Why the change?

3. At what point did the Turtles and April begin to be drawn differently? Was it between episodes or seasons that the change was made? If so, which ones? What i mean by this change is that April's eyes were blue and she wore different clothing other than the usual yellow outfit. Also, The Turtles looked darker and their bandanas changed and you could see green along the outside of their eyes, instead of just their eyes bordered by the mask if that makes any sense.

Any help with these that I can get I would really appreciate.

Later,
Cooper

I'll give you my input of No.1. I know that the reason the nunchukus were replaced with a grappling hook was because the parents thought it would be more appropriate or something.

No i read that Mikey's nunchucks were taken out because nucchucks were illegal in a certain country that TMNT was airing. So they took it out to be World Friendly with everyone.

The chuckus were removed because it was too easy for kids to simulate, and to conceal. Im not sure if paren't were involved in the process.. It happened after season 3.

To answer you're question 3, The TMNT were having bad ratings, and they wanted to change that. 8 season and forth had much better story and animation. Or atleast seasons 8 and 10, 9 is a disapointment... It actually worked, they got good ratings on those seasons, but CBS still decided to cancell the show. I think they wanted diffrent kind of shows or something.

Questions

Thanks for the prompt replies guys. Now if someone can just help me out with my Krang question I'll be all set. Anyone know the answer?

It's stupid in my opinion for them to take the nunchukus out because of parents. I mean I guess they should have done it to appease people, but I feel that the parents (or whoever was responsible) was wrong for that.

I heard that those last few seasons weren't as good. Mainly because Krang and Shredder weren't the main villains and it was that Dregg dude.

Depends what you think as good. They had some real writing, and continious plot, every epidoe wasn't about powering up the technodrome or stopping a mad scientist. Season 8 had Krang and Shredder, It's the best season after the first. Season 9 isn't that good, But season 10 is great.

cool, I hardly remember the original cartoon I think the only episode I remember is the one where Leo has a fear of snakes. Other than the episode I have recorded and the episodes I'm renting from Blockbuster, I don't remember the original TMNT.

TMNT episodes

You mean you can actually get ALL the episodes from the original cartoon? I've been getting them from Kazaa. Is this a better way? This IRC thing?

Are they in .mpeg file format or something?

Of course IRC is the best way. Kazaa is for IRC disabled people and is not a good choice. It corrupts Video files, and is full of fakes.

I'd have to disagree with you there. Sure Shredder and Krang's intentions were always the same, but they always had a different idea on how to get the Technodrome powered up. When you think about it, Shredder was just as stubborn in the old series as he is in this one.

Well yeah, but it had continuity...
