Should Nick buy the TMNT anime OVA?

Who thinks Nick should buy the TMNT anime and give it a proper dub and release it on DVD in the U.S.?

There's no such thing as a proper dub...

Hm. Now I have to get all existential on what Cowboy Bebop is then...

Really, though, if Nick released it I would buy it. It's not really my favorite TMNT, but it would be a funny little thing to watch.

Japanese Nick Hq. should release it in Japan, as anime along with manga is pretty darn popular in Japan, but not in US, that would be the lammest death to the series!

Didn't Nick have a strict No anime policy as of late? A hypocrisy, considering their original 1980's line up contained cheap dubs of cheap shows and specials?

Unlikely, but I would love for that to happen. It could easily be an extra on some future DVD release.

Yes there is, don't be an elitist, in fact theres dubs that surpass the original.

counting the OVAs are kind of a continuation of the OT then I think a dub with the original VA would fit perfectly and be awesome.

Anyways I'd love to see the OVA dubbed and released in DVD with japanese audio as well of course. They are really neat, I find one of them boring but the other one I like a lot since its a parody of Saint Seiya, it means nothing to most of you but Saint Seiya aired in my country and was the cartoon that replaced the turtle craze before Power Rangers. Its an awesome show easily superior TMNT.

all due respect to the parties involved but the fandub is so meh... id rather see someone just splice up the every season of the OT and just mix/match sentances till it seems fitting.

There are plenty of good dubs out there. In fact, sometimes the dub IS an improvement.

So yes, Nick should buy the OVA indeed.

If Nickelodeon isn't going to care about the comics, why would they care about an obscure Japanese Turtles cartoon that lasted a couple of episodes?

Yep. FWF was the copyright holder for it. How they were able to license a program in Japan is beyond me though. AFAIK, that's the extent of their business in Japan. I'm imagining that the series in Japan was hosted by whatever company recorded the dub. Weren't there two companies to do JP dubs of this series?

I doubt it would happen, but I'd love to see it released on DVD (sub and dub).
