Well, it looks adorable. And I do really like Dario's art. So even if it's as meaningless as #66, it'll still be worth it.

A Shadow starting her first day of school story looks fun to me, it seems like the Turtles will be keeping an eye on her.

Who wants to bet this turns into one of those, "there is a monster devouring kids at the school" type of story?

It should be really interesting to have a story about Shadow starting school followed only two months later by adult Shadow surviving in a post-apocalyptic future.

I really don't think so. Seems more like Shadow trying extra hard to keep her uncles secret, and the turtles have a seperate story going on. I don't suspect anything too gonzo.

I bet they did do that purposely.

Shadow has been used in quite a number of Tales issues and Volume 4, so it really does feel like Mirage wanted to set up a character arc for her.

It's good that they made use of her though.

In case you guys didn't know, Andres Ponce is inking this one. I wish he could have got some more issues to do, I love his art. I feel bad, because I didn't even notice he did the April movie prequel, then I didn't have "Reflections" but when I got Tales 61 I didn't really appreciate his art because I was pretty honked that Harmon wasn't doing Tristans pencils (that sounds wrong). But upon re-reading, I've definitely come to notice he is a damn good artist.

I really like the art style. I don't read that many comics at all, only the occasional glance. But it has really nice inking and style to it.

The art style of the turtle's heads reminds me of Snap from Chalkzone for some reason.

I am going to have to look into more of his work.

Looks pretty decent. Dario's artwork is awesome and the greytones really finish it off. Wonder what Leo said to irk Raph like that in thon picture up there?

Not expecting great things from this issue but keeping an open mind.

Ponce, that guy is almost certainly going places. I'd be shocked if he wasn't on a high profile DC or Marvel book within the next year or so.

He's been drawing Star Wars for some UK publications, so he's definitely on the up and up. His work really is fantastic, so I hope we'll be seeing more from him through other outlets.

And he's super nice and one of my bunny's biggest fans.

Tales of the TMNT #67 - "Schooled"

Came out today in my area.

Here's my review.

Some superfluous subplots, an underuse of April and one panel of art I didn't care for, but otherwise?

Loved it. Adorable issue. I dig to tend these "day in the life" stories that we ocassionally get and this was just a really, really cute one.

That's a surprising and out-there cameo. I wonder how he made it in....

I was kind of thinking about putting this one on hold, but that sounds awesome. Picking this up immediately, thanks for the review.

Already have a thread for this: http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=29850

I'd love to contribute, but panel to panel takes a bit long.

Blechhhhhhhhhhhhh.

... & people talk ish about Lawson? Dario, his style is horrible. I can't stand it. I look at it & feel angered by the fact that his art could be featured in mirage works. The story, although an 'original' idea was just, boring at the worst I guess. It read like an episode of 2k3 in my opinion. Anyone else think that? Casey seemed over exentuated. As I've said before, its a shame that these last few comics are so blah blah blah. I really didn't enjoy this story at all. The epilogue was tight I guess.

The pinup was the only thing I could be pleased with.

Well, while I disagree with your opinion of Brizuela's art, I do agree that the pin-up by Andie Tong was great.

Awesome to see some more Turtles work from him. I don't think he's done any since the Digital Webbing Presents short.

I really appreciated that A.Tong pin-up too! Tong's art strikes me as very close to the original Eastman/Laird style, although a bit cleaner, in my opinion. Too bad he only got like what, one issue?

He drew "What Wolves Wear", written by Dan.

But yeah, I love Tong's turtles... they remind me of the original E&L design.
