I also learned that directly (even the Hamato Yoshi-Splinter difference between the 1987 cartoon and the movies) because one of the first TMNT things I ever bought was a VHS tape with the first season.

Well, most people don't have the time to study every aspect of the TMNT universe, so mistakes are likely to occur.

Shame... yeah I know it was a mistake, but if you're gonna say something like that online you're gonna get a freakin'g backlash from the hardcore fanbase. It's like saying Batman got his "powers" by getting bitten by a bat, or Spiderman is the last survivor of a dying planet. I think he got confused with the Street Sharks or something but it's not like this stuff is too hard to look up. If you don't know keep your mouth shut or risk looking like a dumbass.
