Where did the turtles get their stuff? And the money for pizza?

These are the questions I find myself asking as I re-watch the original cartoon. My guess on all their stuff is that its been taken from some dumpster and fixed up by Donatello, although how they're finding weapons, books in good condition and most of their stuff is still weird.

And where do they get all the money to buy all those pizzas? Were these questions ever answered in the comics or other medium?

None of these questions really matter since they don't spoil the show at all, but its funny how as a kid you never think twice about these things and then as a adult they kind of make you smile at how the little details didn't matter back then.

anyways, to stay with this thread--though already mentioned somewhere else, i can only imagine the turtles got their money from the sewers themselves; after all, money can fall down a sewer.

Must be TMNT's biggest plothole ever. Maybe Donatello has a machine that can create false money that look so real that police or government may know they're false. But he would probably give April and Irma some money too, so they shouldn't need to work.

There is somewhere at Drome a nice draw-comic where you can see Raphael disguised as a beggar asking for a few coins... or maybe they use to steal ninja style some for eat ...

You have both given me big laughs there. I DO wonder that kind of stuff though. I think I fixed the problem in my stories by having Raph doing lots of shady deals. "Where'd you think I was getting my money? A paper route?"

Maybe the TMNT are like, prized fighters in some kind of underground fighting circuit, kinda like the UFC but illegal; Where all the super freaks go to.
They could totally place big bets on eachother.

wat exactly do they buy... they live in a sewer..i always assumed theyobtained their things from the dump or garbage...as far as food... my guess would be they trade things in to pawn shops that they may find...

Maybe Hamato Yoshi's friends, relatives or Foot Clan members who always believe in him even if he was dishonoured in Japan send money to him (in versions where Hamato Yoshi is still Splinter).

Back then at age 13, I thought they did odd jobs while in disguise.

Nowadays I think they mainly find things. They may pawn some- Donatello can come up with all the necessary info to do this. Hamato Yoshi may have left money behind.

^Hamato Yoshi doesn't have any money. That's why he ended up living in the sewer (pilot episode).

They're robbers, think about it. They wonder around night time with coats and hats hiding their identity, they show the innocent side on the show but they actually rob stores and people. They could also sell weed, I mean they have to atleast be smoking it, no one eats that much pizza just because. There are a lot of dark conspiracy theories surrounding these green little dudes.

Also Splinter could be some sort of mafia boss, but lives in a sewer for his underground hideout.

Again the possibilities are endless.
