Playmates Head Office

Hi everyone. I just got back from Hong Kong last week and thought you would be interested in seeing these. This is the ground floor lobby of the Playmates' office building.

you should demanded some answers from them as to why they won't let NECA into the playing fields of Toys'r'us and Wal-mart so we can finally get a series 2.

Indeed. I think I've seen these on the net before but not in such great detail.
A quote from SOTO comes to mind in regards to their expressions & proportions though-

"BABIEESSSS THEY'RE BAAABIEEESSSS!"

Raph is sucking on his fingers, yes? LOL

Though there are similarities, I don't think that is what they were aiming for.

I love how Mikey's looking at his hand. "Dude, my fingers are huge!"

There's something disturbingly erotic about the looks on their faces and some of their poses. Not creepy fan girl erotic either.

Wow, those are pretty neat. And also pretty creepy. What's with the looks on their faces? They look as if they have just took some mind altering drugs, and are just, like, y'know.... and staring into space, at their hands, whatever.

I did indeed know where the Playmates building was. Since my fiance and I were going to Hong Kong, and since I had worked on the comics, I thought it would be cool to check it out. You can find the address yourselves on their website and googlemap it or whatever.

The statues... are indeed not perfect. I disagree with you about them being high or perverted (what, why?). I think the expressions and hands are particularly not quite right. Oh, and just in case anyone ever wants to make fun of the turtles wearing letters on belt buckles: in these statues, they have their initials on them.

They are indeed inspired by the poster to "2: The Secret of the Ooze." The sculpter wasn't being 100% faithful, but you can tell what the intention was. Leo's holding the ooze cannister (you can even see the crack down it), Raph has his hand in his mouth, which doesn't really show his personality well, etc. To the person who asked, they're bronze.

The name of the building, "The Toyhouse," gives you an indication of how big Playmates became since they are the premier tennants in the building, not to mention having statues on the ground floor. It's 21 floors, some office space with plenty of restaurants, and the top 3 floors are occupied by Playmates.
