Your favorite covers...

Okay, I didn't see any topic like this so hope it hasn't been done before or at least recently LOL!

Out of all the turtle comics ever put out what's your favorite covers?

Mine would be the one with the jaguar cat guy, the one with the wolf girl, and the one with raph hiding behind a brick wall...all those are from archie.

My other fav is the one where splinter's wearing the waiter outfit on the cover...forgot if this one was by mirage or not.

Which one are these? Is the first one an Archie TMNT with Jagwar?

My fave would be Archie TMNT #49 with the sons of silence surrounding a Turtle. I don't have the issue itself but I think it's a serene yet tense, disturbing yet funny scene at the same time.

K!

The one that started it all: Mirage #1.

Nothing beats the original.

Yes the issue with Splinter in a suit was Mirage I believe like issue 23 Volume 1.

In this issue splinter has an evil twin. The whole issue was done by Mark Martin

Oh forgot to post my favorite covers... well I don't have an absolute favorite. I do tend to like the richard corben covers alot as they look almost totally lifelike. Then I would say A C Farley. Michael Dooney comes in next he's always a great work to look at.

-Issue #50, because I like the way they redid the cover of #1.
-Raphael #1, it's just such a legendary image.
-Issue #15, because it was made to look like an old-style golden age comic--complete with a rip and a coffee stain.
-The second printing of Issue #7, because of the Utrom close-up.

I love the cover to TMNT Adventures #3 with Shredder miniaturizing the turtles. The effect looks so cool!

I have the collected book that story appears in, but it's not an evil twin. It's just some big obnoxious rat who happens to know Splinter.

Mirage Vol. 1 #50 is easily the best TMNT cover ever. And one of the best comic covers, period.

I also agree with HT that all of AC Farley's covers are awesome, but #54 is particularly great.

My other favorite Farley cover is Mirage Vol. 2 #1.

Mike Dooney's painting for Vol. 4 #1 is also awesome.

For the Archie books, all of the covers Peter did are awesome. Though I think the 1492 issue is one of my favorites.

Archie #50 by Chris Allen is also great.

There really are a whole lot of great covers.

Man, I am kinda partial to the Archie Turtle covers since those were the ones I read growing up. As I am continuing to find the rest of the series one Mirage ones I am enjoying all the artwork. There is one I had growing up that I really loved. It was a Christmas one and I believe one of the Turtles wondered off and was meet by three spirits. OHHHHHHH I really loved that Mirage issue. I don't hvae it anymore but I would love to get it again. What issue was it? If anybody has another copy I would gladly buy it off you. Oh yeah, I also grew up with the City at war ones two. I do think Mirage has some awsome awsome covers. I love the new Mirage comics but I don't think teh covers are that great. as for the Image comics, I love teh volent storyline but the covers aren't as good.

That would be the second printing of the Michaelangelo one shot comic. What you describe is the backup story that was added into that printing. It was basically "A Christmas Carol" with Raph. Very good.
