Could the 4Kids cartoon had more success if Fred Wolf cartoon characters were used

What do you mean by more successful? Outside comedy shows like Family Guy or anime which doesn't count what other cartoons have lasted as long as TMNT 2k3 this decade? None, they all reached 52/65 episodes and were done for. Also part of the reason the show wasn't as successful is that it aired well on 4kids which always had worse ratings than their competitor, had it aired on KidsWB! it would have enjoyed much more ratings. Would it have sold more toys and gotten more viewers? sure but most of what didn't allow the 2k3 show to grow was the network it aired on and not so much the content, and even so it got over 100 episodes something most highly popular cartoons do not achieve.

It probably would have reached a larger demographic, pulled in more people who were older and fans of the original cartoon, and probably sold more retro merchandise. Considering the target audience of the show was pre-teen boys though I think just as many of them would have watched and bought the toys had the older characters been there or not. Considering most kids that grew up with 2k3 Turtles had little to no knowledge of the 80's Turtles.

I am personally happy the 2k3 show went a different route.

I have to say no as much as I wanted to see Krang, and the "Wonder Twins" I think they would have been used in properly. I think The 2k3 series went above and beyond epections.

No, not really. OT worked because the dynamics of their Technodrome villains.

I think the 4Kids Turtles just lacks a good Rogue's Gallery, after Shredder was offed in season 3 they couldn't find a good replacement for him. They tried to build one for them during Fast Forward, but that season didn't go very far w/c is a shame, as I did like their evil clones.

It could have possibly had been a bigger hit. Maybe not episode-wise, but awareness wise. Maybe TMNT would have been in everyone's lips, rather than kinda passing under the radar like it did.

Yeah probably, but at the same time I think we wouldn't have ended up with the a decent show. They would have tried doing more of the same, and I just doubt it would have worked.

Any effect using the Fred Wolf characters would have been negligible. Kids were not aware of these characters so wouldn't be swayed simply by their presence.

Most fans of the OT have grown up and grown out of the show. That leaves fans which still take the occasional nostalgia trip but most of these hate new versions of their childhood favourites anyway. Y'know the type that comment on youtube videos of the old theme song song with comments like "this was the **** new tmnt is gay" and "I feel sorry for kids today not knowing the real turtles what they got now is crap. I don't think these people would be swayed by the presence of Krang and co. They'be be too busy attacking the show for raping their childhood.

One of my favourite comments I've seen was from someone saying the new versions of Bebop & Rocksteady sucked and this was well before Samurai Tourist.

Genuine fans of the old show or the franchise judged the show on it's merits or lack of thereof. The presence of the Punk Frogs would have done little to alter their opinions.

The problem is like any fad, people never get back into it later on.

These people don't even rewatch the original series, they did not buy the DVDs, they just remember TMNT as part of their childhood.

After reading the IDW comics, it clearly shows how characters like Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady can be updated to a non-silly series but still keep their characters in tact.

I wouldn't have mind to see the 4kids writers take a crack at Krang and the Rock Soldiers for example. If Peter Laird wasn't in charge, it might have been possible to see.
