Favorite Vacation Spot

***First off I know that this topic title is already listed , but my computer did something funny when I submitted it and it turned out all goofed up. It gave the Page Cannot Be Displayed screen. It gave the topic, but not the message. So I'm trying again for this topic.

Now... Every once in a while we all need to get away from our problems and have fun. What do you consider your place to vacation, or your favorite one yet.

My favorite are the Orlando, FL theme parks.

Growing up, San Antonio was my favorite vacation spot. Going along Austin Highway & Broadway [then Business U.S. 81, now Loop 368] to reach downtown.

Brackenridge Park is known for the Zoo, Japanese Tea Garden, Paddleboats, Train & Sky Ride. Then you had the summer tradition of Fiesta Noche Del Rio that had traditional Mexican music & dancing, plus I kissed their star Rosita Fernandez, on her final year in 1982.

Things change & Austin Highway was replaced by going along Fredericksburg Road (then Business U.S. 87/now Loop 345) & taking the VIA (their bus system) to downtown. There was even a cute name for a mall in NW San Antonio named Wonderland (now Crossroads; the same mall I met Mario Lopez). There was even a Rodeway Inn nearby.

In a 1998 trip, Fiesta Noche Del Rio changed for the worst with taped music & salsa dancing, inclusing forbidden dances. And in 2006, Brackenridge Park lost 1/2 its attractions of losing the paddleboats, Tea Garden & skyride. My favorite motel was gone & Crossroads Mall is 1/2 gone.
