Archie Style Slash WIP
These are pics of it so far. I'm in the finishing stages of it, but I'm a bit conflicted on a few things and would like some input from you guys
Should I make the belt tighter? Should I whiten the teeth? (I kinda like the grungy looking teeth) Should I make the large eye yellow or leave it white? I was also considering doing a gray dry-brush over the kneepads and bandanna to make the little details stick out. I'm going to retouch all the paint where there are flaws when I decide on what the final will look like. What do you guys think so far? ![]() ![]()

I'm guessing you're gonna hit it with a dullcoat to get rid of the shine? Then again, somehow the semi-gloss look works for Slash. I can see you're gonna have some issues with paint rub around the shoulders & hips too.
Other than that, it looks like one of the more interesting Slash customs, mainly because you've gone the extra mile and not just repainted a NECA turtle. |

@ Discogod
Yes on the dullcoat. the shine is from a "matte" acrylic seal that wasn't as matte as it claimed to be. That brings the issue of paint rub up. I'll be taking the figure apart at all joints to paint the pieces individually. on parts that are showing the most rub, I'm going to sand down, apply a coat, then apply clear nail polish, then a dullcoat. I think it will help quite a bit. The Neca repaint Slash customs are cool, but I really wanted to make mine look like he was the Archie comics version. It required a bigger build, so He's quite a Frankenstein. Thanks for pointing out the extra effort! @ Eiko and DonnyTMNT Thanks for the encouragement! Wait till you see him finished!

Looks cool so far, just waiting to see you repaint it so you can get rid of that paint rub. I also think that matte paint would work better than glossy. Good to see your new customs again.
