Tatsu

I was in a Turtle mood today so I watched the first two movies again. Well am watching the movies tonight, I'm in the middle of the second one right now. Anyway one thing that always bugged me is that we never saw Tatsu outside of the first two movies. It is clear why he is second in command in the movies, and a true threat it feels like. So do we know why he never made it into any of the other versions of the TMNT?

Was he really a threat? He got disposed of in a matter of seconds in both movies.

Tatsu was in The Hyperstone Heist (Sega game), and if you count the film adaptions, he was also in a comicverse.
The reason he wasn't in other stuff may have had something to do with the rights to his actors likeness. Just a guess, though.

I believe Tatsu was also in the Manhattan Missions PC Game, but I'm not 100% on that.

Man, I loved Tatsu! He was cooler than Hun! He proved that he didn't have to look like a giant to be Shredder's right hand man! Bring him back!

When rewatching the movies months ago, I was like, "Wow, Tatsu was so cool!" I'd forgotten how awesome the character was. It had been many years since I'd seen the first movie, anyway. I wish he would've been used more aside from movies 1 & 2 and Hyperstone Heist (he was cool there too).

It's a shame that Tatsu didn't fight more in the movies. He was so cool with the way he sent the foot to go out and fight. Here's hoping by some odd set up that he shows up in Nick's version of the show.

I think it would be cool if he showed up in the new IDW comic. Seems like a character that has a lot of potential. I mean he wasn't just some random punk the Shredder man his right hand, it seemed to me there was a history. I want to know what it was. I think there is a lot there that could be explored.

I agree, it was noce to see someone who wasn't just a thug be his right hand man for once. I enjoyed Hun don't get me wrong. I plan on getting the Foot tattoo on my shoulder like he had soon. But Tatsu seemed like had some actual knowledge and skills.

There are a few characters I'd like to see revised and reused. I keep meaning to write more of my fan fic with those characters showing up. But I keep getting distracted. But yes Tatsu would be awesome to see in IDW. I thought it was cheep how they dealt with him in the second movie.

I agree the reason we don't see him is because he's basically based on the real life actor who played him in the movies.

I always thought Tatsu had some potential. He seemed to be a pretty skilled fighter, and it bothered me that he was disposed of so quickly. I doubt we'll see him again, but he was pretty cool.

And, CC, I'd love to read that fan fic.

I have the prolog up on the site, just need to sit down and write some more. I keep meaning to but then get distracted.

I remember as kid I always wanted a figure of him too. I've always liked bad guys more then the good guys. It worried my parents.

The reason we haven't seen much of Tatsu is because Northshore Investments/Golden Harvest owns him (same with Keno, Prof. Jordan Perry and Chief Sterns).

Heck if I know. Maybe the same way Usagi appeared in the Battle Nexus game, and some elements from the Planet Racers series appeared in the Mutant Nightmare game.

If they did bring him back it would be awesome to get the original actor to do the voice.
