Green With Jealousy
You know, I haven't honestly given the OT a proper chance since my childhood. I have Season 3 and I watched it last night...I was cracking up, so hard. I never realized how many adult-orientated jokes were slipped in there.
"Green With Jealousy" was the highlight for me. Did anybody else catch Mikey saying "BIIIIONG" when he saw Irma? Classic! This episode was hilarious - Splinter telling Donnie how crucial his potion was and ending it with "but no pressure", and then Donnie's face - priceless! This disc is making me want to watch the OT in its entirety. |

You should watch the whole thing. Seasons 1-9 are on DVD, so that's practically the entire series. Season 10 will probably be released right before the Nick show begins.
The only two skipped eps are "Planet of the Turtleoids" and "Once upon a time machine," but there are on German DVDs with english voices for the time being. |

You can also catch those three episodes legally on youtube until they are released on DVD. Its only really the Shredder vs Dregg three parter that in not able to be watched here in Region 1.
Is funny that Green With Jealousy is what got you sold on it. I thought it was one of the three campier episodes of the third season. The more lighthearted approach in my mind was first shown with the ridiculous resolution of "Sword To Nowhere". It was a fun episode but there are alot of better ones in this season that overshadow it. It is one of the few times that Cam Clarke is allowed to be goofy as Leonardo. Rocksteady falling for April was also funny.

I grew up on the OT and still love it. I have all of the seasons on dvd and pop them in quite a bit at night to fall asleep too. I still find them very enjoyable, and dig all of the jokes and breaking of the 4th Wall. I really think the series has some great moments that often get overlooked.
Glad you rediscovered its awesomeness!

I find it funnier now than when I was a teen. I guess as a teen I felt like every teen did, "It was too childish" or I had "grown up."
But now as an adult, I appreciate it for what it actually was: A well made and entertaining children's cartoon show. Its really easy to see why the show became so popular when we were all kids, the series did almost everything right to entertain us. |

Green With Jealousy has definitely got me wanting more, so I'm probably going to watch some of it before bed tonight! I've seen so many eps from when I was a kid but I hardly remember them all. I only have on DVD Seasons 1, 3, and 7. I have to expand my library... |

Do you have all of Season 3? Remember its eps were spread out over Volumes 3-6. After that they decided the season sets.
Lastly remember those European Vacation eps on the Season 7 DVDs are out of order, those Euro eps take place during Season 4. Most of the DVDs can be found cheaply now on amazon.com. |

"Green with Jealousy" was one of three episodes on a VHS tape I still have, I played it constantly, it's in my top five episodes of the third season
"The course of true love never runs smoothly, in our case, it just runs" And it contains my favourate Rocksteady quote ever, which should be applied to an everyday situation "GO SWIPE A RING AND KIDNAP A PREACHER" |

The tape was a UK release, and each of the three episodes on was taken from the "Hero Turtles" edit of the show which meant the word "Ninja" was omited in one of them. The volume was from Tempo video and was called simply "Green with Jealousy" it featured, in addition to that episode, "Sky Turtles" and "The Maltease Hamster"

There was another thread on this episode awhile back:
http://forums.thetechnodrome.com/showthread.php?t=33820 I also fell for Irma's joke, "is there a single man there? No, I mean not married!" Then of course despite knowing the turtles by this point, she still feels disenchanted by their appearance despite saving April. Who needs Shredder in love? This could pass as "Rocksteady in love"!

I kind of found the flaws of this episode more memorable other than Leo, Raph and Mikey falling for Irma. The voices didn't match the right Turtle, Krang not having his usual voice, and why were the Turtles wearing sailor suits?!

I used to find this episode silly as a kid. (Because of all of the ways to destroy the Turtles, why use a love potion?) Now I really enjoy it as an adult because of the slightly adult-ish humor and attitude in the episode (even though most of it was somewhat potion induced.) ;p
Green with Jealously still sorta feels like a pilot episode.

Does any one know that 1950's tune that starts when the Turtles fall in loved.
Was watching it a few days ago and I was sure I heard it before. I would think it Earth Angel but I not sure. |

[QUOTE=MikeandRaph87;1342876]Why a love potion? Have the enemy destory themselves that is why! [QUOTE=MikeandRaph87;1342876]Why a love potion? Have the enemy destory themselves that is why!
They could destroy each without any potion at any given day. Donnie's contraptions usually go beserk -and have turned against on the bro's on more than one occasion even though they're just minor setbacks-, Raph's smart mouth could get himself killed (along with his bad temper in the comics), Mikey isn't always an expert cook and has either set the kitchen on fire or killed a stove. *or both* Even Leo could find himself in danger, and even if he doesn't, the other three bro's usually do. Remember those episodes when he left the group? The other three Turtles weren't doing so hot without him. So okay, some weird love potion was okay for that episode; however it still feels a bit weird that some love potion was even used for that episode. I'll probably get over it eventually and cartoons don't always have to make sense (even though we wished they did at times.)

This is one of my three favorite episodes of the entire series- the other two being The Gang's All Here and Cowabunga Shred-head. This one was just so darned funny for all the "adult" humor when they are head-over-heels for Irma, of all people. (Might have been even funnier if it had been April, which I think is what Shredder was hoping for.) Especially Mikey's "Boi-oi-oing!" Raph's "Hubba-hubba!" and Leo drooling.
