Color Classics Raphael Micro - coloring job

Is it just me or did someone make a mistake on coloring Raph on the cover? The top of his shell is clearly defined, but they made the area around his collar bone yellow like the shell and not green as it should be.

Also, shouldn't his belt be tan and not red? I don't know what they were thinking.

I'm no expert so maybe I'm wrong here.

You're right about the neck thing. As for the belt, not sure if it's red or an odd shade of brown.

The yellow neck looks totally weird. Shame! I bet the issue is going to be colored great though, they did a fabulous job with the #1 recolor.

I won't buy it if the final cover looks like that and it's probably too late to change it. It will stick out like a sore thumb to me.

I'm not sure which bugs me more: weird "turtle neck" Raph or Blue "glove" Shredder.

These color classics really need some reference material, because the coloring errors are probably getting worse as it goes on.

Yeah, no doubt. The colorist(s) have talent but no idea what they're doing. Not wasting dough on f*ck-ups.

August 29th.

Has anyone tried shooting them an email? I just sent one to hopefully the right people. We'll see if they get back to me.

Overall, Scorpion Studios does some very good work, but they just seem to make a few mistakes here and there that are very unfortunate in how distracting they can be.

I imagine that IDW will have those errors "fixed for the trade", as is their usual MO.

Shredder in a bodysuit in the first issue(both with blue hands and without) and now the collarbone shoulder area being discolored is leaving a bad taste in my mouth for the color classics. They need to fix this before trade re-release. I don't understand why they've had inconsistencies thus far. It's not that hard to figure out based on the tons of reference material out there exactly what color things are supposed to be.

The shredder isn't as bad as this though. At least you had to get a couple of pages in. This is the cover! although, the fact that this is the cover makes it so that maybe we can fix it? I emailed them earlier and they emailed me back saying my email was forwarded on to the editorial/production team for review. Who knows if that means anything though.

Wow. Serious respect for that one.

Question, in these color reprints the colors are going to be Mirage style right? Or are they going with the color head bands?

Mirage red only. And the pages are looking great -- Tom Smith is doing a fine job coloring these issues.

Thanks for your interest!

Thanks. It's interesting to me these books have been color reprinted so many times. They might historically have the most different color reprints on any comic ever. I like that each has it's own style. Looking forward to see more of these. If I like them I hope more come.

Any idea if #1 could be reprinted without Shredder having a full covered blue bodysuit? That's really my only gripe so far...
