[Suggestion] Thread post limit

[DonatelloFan]

Could we have a post limit on threads? It's a pain for me to go through sometimes almost 100 pages of posts to find something (if the search doesn't work). Let's have this instead:

For example:

Pro Wrestling Discussion
-Then when it gets to a certain point, say 40 pages (which is I think 1,000 posts);

Pro Wrestling Discussion: Vol. 2 (or Part 2, etc)

It works really well on other forums I'm on, and it keeps the threads under control. Most threads have a lot of great info, but a lot more filler from people talking, arguing, etc.

Maybe we just need a better search function....

I agree. Use the "search this thread" feature. I prefer having everything in one thread to keep the boards clean. How does splitting the thread keep it under control if you are just ending one and starting another? If an interesting discussion starts within a general thread, I have no problem branching it out into a topic specific thread. Failing that, just use the multi-quote feature to reference posts from pages that were forgotten because of people talking, arguing.
