[Art Contest] TMNT Redesign Challenge #15 - FUGITOID

I always loved this name, FUGITOID, don´t know why but it works so good for this character.

Also loved the round shaped robot. He and Usagi are my favorite secondary characters.

IDW redesigned him, but for some reason it had not the same spark. Was great, but wasn´t shinny .

Hope to get real redesigns this time, go deep on your imagination and bring us the ultimate Fugitoid design.

The Fugitoid is a fugitive android, a pre-TMNT Mirage Studios character who later became integrated into their universe. He was initially Professor Honeycutt, a scientist from another world whose mind became trapped in his android creation SAL.

RULES:

All people who choose to participate will have until the end date to come up with a redesign for the given character.
You can use any medium you wish.
You can sketch, paint, make a 3-D model, make a sprite, make a custom action figure, whatever you want.
Its entirely up to you!

If you have done a backstory for your redesigns and want to see it submitted with your art, please embed it in the picture.

You can post any number of redesigns you want and chose if it will be submitted to the contest poll, but when nothing is mentioned by the submitter, they will be always considered submissions.
Will only be considered a maximum of 2 finished Art submissions per participant for the contest poll.

All submissions made after the end date will not be considered, so please don´t post more art if the deadline ended.

As well, you don't have to force yourself to make your design conform to any new or old cartoon or comic book's style.
Be as drastic in your redesign as you see fit. Whatever makes you happy.

If you can't think of a new design, or just hate the idea of working on this character, you do not have to feel obligated to participate in this particular challenge.
You will still be free to participate in any future challenges you wish.

When the submission period end, the contest poll will be post with the submissions during 10 days.
The winner of the contest poll can choose the 5th character in the next character poll.

I guess I'll be the first to reply with a submission. This is just a first quick go around. I'll probably draw something else also. Not really happy with how this came out.



So I figured I should put a little why the design. Going with the idea that Sal would be a worker robot before becoming one with Honeycutt I went with a more bulky body. The idea of the brain was that durring an attack to capture him his body is wounded and one of the waring sides saved his brain and fused it with the robot.

OT Shredder! It will be near Halloween, so what a way to try a wretched villain for the occassion. Not to mention the man that looks like the one used in the '90s Nicktoon promo is heading for the Technodrome.

I never really thought about it much before, but the Fugitoid does have a similarity with Fred Wolf Krang. Both of them are more-or-less "brains" without a body. Your piece made me think of that, even though the 'Toid is traditionally portrayed as possessing the "mind" of Professor Honeycutt but non of his actual biology.

I wanted to go with a completely different take with this one. Figured I should try and stay away from any thing that could be mistaken for just a slight tweak. I'm working on some other ideas still.

I've got one but it's still just a sketch - try to get it done this week. Super busy but I think I can finish it up pretty nice. If not I'll just upload the sketch. Hope to see more of everyone else's! Koschei? Powder?

I've been trying to think of a new take on this, something even farther then just a change in robot shape that would make the redesign even more unique but drawing a blank.

I'm excited to see what others come up with though.

Maybe make fugitoid have the ability to shapeshift via nanobots (or nannites like Generator Rex ) or maybe the ability to merge with any tech (like upgrade in Ben 10 ). Fugitoid could use diamond exoskeleton instead of steal. Thats all I can think of now.

I'm doing one too! Even if it's just a pencil sketch!

Mine is not a drastic redesign. I want it to still be obviously Fugitoid, just a little updated. I'm not imaginative enough to give him a new look. Every robot I draw looks like a cross between Mecha Godzilla and that robot from Short Circuit.
