American Greetings 2012 Raphael Ornament

I found this ornament this past Saturday and just really love it.
I thought I'd share and I hope they keep making more!

If you don't have an American Greetings store around you are you don't enjoy the hunt I've come across a website that has them as a pretty decent price as well.

I think the plan is one character for each year.

Awesome find. Target and Kmart carries American Greetings stuff and I believe that has included ornaments in past years. Love the mold. I'll have to keep an eye out!

Or one character per month leading up to Christmas. I'd love to see a Shredder, Splinter, April, Krang, or Foot Soldier ornament released. The designs are nice and based off of the classics line.

I'm surprised they're doing the classic turtles instead of Nick Turtles.

Oh, Well That Doesn't Sound Very Practical To Me. Who's Going To Wait 4 Years Just To Get The Set, And By The Time The Last Ornament Arrives, Wouldn't People Have Lost Interest? It Is A Nice Ornament, But I Would Rather Have All 4 Of The Turtles Than Just Raphael.

That's pretty common for ornament manufacturers like Hallmark and Carlton (American Greetings) to create a novelty "Series" and then release a new one into the series each year. Very doubtful that they would release a new one each month leading up to Christmas as all ornaments from the current year's line should be out by October if not sooner. I used to REALLY be into collecting Hallmark ornaments back in the day. Then I had waaay too many to fill my two trees and had to stop collecting cold Turkey LOL! Of course, I always make exceptions for TMNT!

I hope its not a one off thing like Hallmark did in 2005 with the Leonardo 2003 oranment. It looks great. Hope there will be more to come!

That is sweet. It will look awesome on the tree this year.

If it was Hallmark collection, it would be one every year.
Ages ago they use to have collections where you could buy a new one each week with the purchase of something like 4 cards.
We have a Peanuts collection, a fireplace scene, and Santa and his reindeer.

I don't think Leo sold well for Hallmark which is why they didn't make anymore. Hallmark tends to invest a lot in their ornaments and are known for high quality. Carlton/American Greeting are good, but not up to Hallmark standards. Thus cheaper to make. So unless a total failure, they tend to see their lines through. That being said, the popularity of the Nick series should help as well. Unless that to is a failure. Lol. Lets hope not!!

Kinda wish I had known about his earlier. That way I could have been on the look out for it...Hopefully I'm able to find one. I've got two old ornaments, so it would be nice to get some more, and it's Raph, gotta have a Raph ornament. Only thing I don't like about it, is the choice to color the shell green. Always looked better brown, imho...

I will have to take a look again then. I went by the store just over a week ago and did not see any. Perhaps a shipment has been made sense then.

That's odd looking - it looks good, but it's a realistically muscular body with a toon head.
