Have your voice heard: Push for Tristan Jones to work on the TMNT again!

He is known for writing the Gang Wars issues from Mirage's Tales of the TMNT Vol. 2 as well as IDW's Infestation 2: TMNT. He is also a talented artist and has never officially drawn the Turtles.

With the lead artist for the IDW Turtles not set in stone and the current structure of the Micro-Series issues, this is the best time to push for Tristan Jones to come back and work on the Turtles again! Currently we have Andy Kuhn as the artist for issues 13 - 16 and Ben Bates doing issues 17 - 20. That leaves a nice opening for issues 21 - 24 to finish out year 2. The Micro-Series issues will likely resume in April 2013 after the SHotFC wraps up with 4 issue run. Micro-Series issues opens the door to a guest writer, guest artist, or both.

Have your voice heard: Push for Tristan Jones to work on the TMNT again! Please vote here are at IDWPublishing's forum to get Bobby and Tom's attention!

Take a look at his recent Turtles work:

I've been gradually losing all interest in IDW TMNT, but I really really wanted to like the book. I kept buying it monthly until I moved back to Spain (I can't afford shipping the book here every month), and I would probably still buy it if I could, but it's definitely not something I enjoy reading.

Now, if Tristan Jones was in the picture, I wouldn't even think about it. With all due respect, I think IDW should have given the title to him in the first place. I've got nothing against Tom Waltz, and he's good at what he does, but Tristan's turtles are among the best that's ever been in my opinion. I don't think that would make me instantly love the book, as I deeply dislike some stuff that seem to be there to stay, but I'm pretty sure there'd be a certain improvement.

Tristan "gets" the Turtles, and it would be a treat to see him on the main book.

The TMNT Infestation mini felt very much like a Mirage book, though, and with IDW wanting to carve out their own continuity, his vision - while it proved a success with his Mirage stories (36 sold out, didn't it?) - may not be what IDW wants.

But, he's anything if not adaptable and would do a marvelous job on the Turtles. Hell, he successfully brought Hun into the Mirage universe - a rare crossover of an animated character finding its way into the comics.

YES to artist, 100% agree!

ABSOLUTELY NOT to him as writer! His writing is awesome, but I love what Tom Waltz in doing right now with the book!

IDW is the best version of TMNT

If they make a TMNT reboot movie retelling the shredder battle/origin, I won't buy a ticket.

Tom has not written any of the micros or minis; they have all been guest writers. I agree, I would not want to replace Tom at this point either.

I'd love Tristan to do a micro or mini series in the IDW continuity, but what I want most for him to do is the conclusion to Gang Wars in the Mirage continuity. Ok it's a long shot but I can dream (I still dream of the day Peter finishes Vol. 4 as well...)

I think it's interesting that Tristan hasn't drawn the turtles yet! Especially after Paul Harmon departed from their excellent partnership in Tales Vol. 2, I thought we might see Tristan take over both duties.

We all made it VERY clear to IDW from day one that we'd like Tristan to be an active player. If they were going to make that happen on our account, they likely would have already. Bear in mind, first off, IDW has their own vision here. Though they give work to some guys from the past, they're trying to build a new team of talent. In addition to that, Tristan is a busy as hell dude from what I've come to understand. It may not be so easy as IDW going "Hey come do stuff!", the dude is working on what, like 4 titles simultaneously, with the undertaking of a creator owned/written/drawn thing now too? Cut dude some slack. I'm sure he'll show up again, though, and I of course would like that.

I do not think I am being unreasonable. Tristan did do the Infestation issues for IDW. I know he is busy, but there might be another round of micros in April and their going to need people to work on them. Working out schedules in advance is how projects get assigned. Plus, with Tristan sketching TMNT recently, he said the best way to get him back on the books was taking it to the boards.

Hey guys, cheers for all this love again -- I think the new show's kinda reinvigorated my love for them, and realising I'd never drawn them all before kinda kicked me in the pants to do it. I should catch up a bit on things here...!

Infestation was a lot of fun, but super challenging and it'd be great just to try some classic Turtle action without the horror slant. I'm actually going to be drawing something for Tom around that time frame (I actually just found out today), so it may not line up, but IDW definitely have big things in play. Tom's got a long term plan and I know there are things in there I would have loved to take a stab at, but the I don't think things match up directionally.

Continuing/finishing the crimelords thing? Certainly, but I don't think that fits in with what IDW want to do, or if that sort of thing even registers on Nick's radar at the moment.

I'd love to go back to the Turtles. In all honesty I'd kill a man to write Hun, King Cobra and the rest again (TRICERATONS), but none of that is up to me any more, and there are things in the pipeline for me at IDW, at Archie, and at other places now that I've got to see to. Andy, Ross, Dan, Tom, Bobby and everyone else are killing on that book, and maybe I'll do something again, but if and/or when isn't up to me.

Love to know who said "NO!" and why...! :/

Hey! I voted yes! I just wish the writing and drawing options were seperate.

Oh, and Tristan? I do love your work, and It'd be great to have to as artist on the main book, or writing a second book, special, or mini. But I do not want to lose Tom Waltz as writer, love what the man's doing with the Fred Wolf stuff in the comic!

I gotta go back and take a look at Tristan's work. I know he did some badass artwork in Mirage, but I haven't looked at my collection in months!

I don't want to replace Tom, I specified in the first post that the writing would be for micros and minis.
