Fake/Bootleg Donatello?

I read your forums a lot. Been building my collection of loose/moc figures for a little while. I still have a lot to go!

I do a lot of flea market shopping and buy TMNT figures and others. I recently purchased all the TMNT on the table (about 20) for 10 dollars. When I got home I came across this guy....

He clearly looks "fake"

Is it worth keeping? I know some people like the knockoffs as a novelty, or should I just pitch it?

The whole body/head/arms are soft. The legs are solid and hollow. You can see holes forming around his heels.

Thanks,
Endurs

Yeah, it's definitely a bootleg. I'd hold onto it, if not for value then just the novelty of it. Most bootlegs aren't worth all that much (about the same as loose figures usually, sometimes more depending on quality), but they're definitely rare. You see bootlegs often enough, but you seldom see the same one twice.

What do you usually pay for loose common figures? I try not to pay over $1 and then I feel like that is too much.

...Most if not all loose figures are worth at the very LEAST $3.00 & even that is quite low.

When Im out a flea markets people rarely pitch me at anything higher than a buck. If they do I just evaluate if I actually need it or not. I'd go up to 5 for things now, just cause Im down to the harder to come by figures. If I can find them for under a buck I usually snag them no matter what. I ended up with just a lot of casey jones and genghis frogs haha ace duck too.

A tip for yah. Always dig through the bottom of the bins and collect all the weapons. Most people don't realize how much we want that stuff. Show them a handful and go "two bucks?" lol works most the time. Til you get the one guy that goes "I said everything in that bin was a dollar, all the accessories are a dollar a piece." In that case you chuckle and throw all his **** back into the bin and walk away lol.

I have the set of all four Turtles in this series!!

They were knockoffs found in a dollar store; each Turtle wore a cloth robe colored to his headband and had some solid weapons.

Raph had nightsticks, and Leo had a bo staff like Don, IIRC. I actually preferred using the bo staff from these with Movie Don because it was sturdy!
