Classic Commercials

Commercials played a big part in my childhood. Heck, they were aimed directly at me! I think it can be kind of fun to revisit some of the old ones and take a nostalgia trip back to your old living room floor, staring straight into the loving glow of your tv.

Here are a couple to get started.

The "mutating" voice sounds exactly as i remembered it..


I'm pretty sure I asked my mom to buy this every time we went grocery shopping. I was able to get it only once(that i can remember).

I actually remember being disappointed when the "tension theme" would lead to the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will return after these messages", though I thought the commercials themselves were entertaining. Its just that the channels I watch tend to have way to much info overload with disclaimers (car commercials and pharmaceuticals), infomercials regarding stuff that I don't really need (mortgage, insurance, senior citizen care). Of course this is less of a problem on Nick/Cartoon Network, but I miss the catchy jingles of the '80s/'90s. Thank goodness for Youtube! I also like how many voice actors also are involved in commercial work besides animation, showing them their more realistic side in presenting in addition to being goofy.
