TMNT Dream Team
I don't know if this question has been posted before, but my son asked me the other day and I thought it would be cool to share.
If you could pick any 4 of the TMNT to put together from any Universe to make your ultimate green team...who would it be? And why? It does have to be one of each turtle. |

Mirage Leonardo, Movie Raph, 4kids Donatello, and Fred Wolf Michelangelo, with Nickelodeon Splinter guiding them. They all seem to provide the best fighting and skills of each incarnation and would have the best chemistry with each other. A serious Leo and tough, vigilant Raph would be very quick and hard-hitting while 4kids Donatello is very smart while OT Mike can feel which gadgets/devices work the best, since both involve good mousetraps in addition to fighting, yet they can both hold their own against Leo's commands and Raph's wittiness. Nick Splinter would seem to cope and train these Turtles the easiest and most efficient.

Neat idea. Here's my selection:
-Mirage Michelangelo, because he's actually interesting and doesn't act as if he's retarded. See Tales of the TMNT Vol.2 #64, "The Burning Man", for the coolest depiction of the character. -IDW Donatello, because he's sceptical and pragmatic, taking his beliefs as far as facing Leo. His thinking process is actually important in the way he sees the world. -Movie 1 Leonardo, because he doesn't come out as a jerk in the whole leadership thing. He carries a lot of weight on his shoulders, and he feels responsible for his brothers. The scene when he's taking care of Raph after the big fight with the Foot is great. -OT Raphael, for no good reason. I actually prefer Mirage Raph, but I already chose Mikey from that universe. I just don't like Raphael bullying people around. I understand he's angry and all, but things like the way he treats Mikey in the Nick toon are a bit unsettling. |

The Ultimate Dream Team:
- OT Raphael, because he was classic in that iteration and not completely obnoxious to me. Yet, he was still a tough guy. - Movie 1+2 Michelangelo, because he was kind of funny and loveable. I still like the 2k12 Mikey, but this one was better. - 2k7 Film Donatello, because not only was he a genius (like he always is), but he seemed very nice to be around with. Plus, out of all the Donnies made, he seemed to be the nerdiest. - 2k12 Leonardo, because I think this is a smarter and funnier incarnation of the fearless leader. I even love that he can lead his team very well, and yet he can be a sci-fi geek once in a awhile. |

If we're talking the most effective line-up and not just our favorites, and trying to have them all be different universes...
4kids Leo - Good leader, goes to great lengths to save the day. Willing to use lethal force. Fred Wolf Donatello - Can fix/build anything. Mirage Raph - Easily the most deadly version of the character. Nicktoon Mikey - Might be dimwitted but is an excellent martial artist. Very creative and not afraid to use his gusari-kama. |

2k3 Leo. A great leader and deadly. Not afraid of much. OT raph because he wasn't an annoying bully but still strong and awesome. Mirage Mikey because he is not portrayed as dumb. 2k12 Mikey a close second. 2k12 Don. I just love the guy. If we're going for best team overall for overcoming enemies it'd be Mirage Leo, movie 1 raph, image Don, and probably Mirage Mikey.

'87 Michelangelo-He defined the character and was fun and serious at the same time. Favorite version of my favortie character. Thank you Townsend Coleman!
'87 Raphael-Unfortuantely many of the aspects that make Raphael great are confined to this version. The sarcastic wite mixed with his hothead and impulsive nature make him great! Thanks you Rob Paulsen! '03 Leonardo-Driven and dsiciplined. A bit too focused on at times, but I enjoyed his character here probably the most. IDW's Don- His character is the most changed from the previous two waves both in Nick and IDW. I like IDW's a little better than '03 because of the unique dynamics of the Leo vs Don opposed to the traditional and using his intellect in different ways opposed to just inventing things. Splinter- I don't really care if he is Hamato Yoshi or his pet rat mutated. As Yoshi his conflict is more direct and elliminates most of the string of murders that happen in the b&w comics so probably '87 cartoon if only because of the direct conflict if nothing else, but really any Splinter is fine. Archie's April- sophisicated and not always captured, still the good ole news reporter and can handle her own if she has to fight. '87 Shredder-Best version and the one I always think of when I think of the character. He is a bada$$ stuck in a mostly light hearted cartoon. Potential that shows not often enough. I love his dialogue with Krang and others. He is fun yet threatening and well developed if one looks beyond the surface of the character.

Strictly in terms of character "power," not what I would personally like?
Well... Mirage Leonardo: Because he doesn't pull any punches and he will behead yo ass. Mirage Raphael: Because he isn't screwing around either. Mirage Michelangelo: Because he's the only Michelangelo that doesn't have a mental condition. and... Fred Wolf Donatello*: Because he can build super advanced technology seemingly out of thin air. *: Ideally, I'd want Vol. 3 era cyborg Donatello because of his fairly limitless potential.

Don: 2K3 Leo: Nick Raph: Next Mutation Mikey's a tough choice. I liked him on Next Mutation (Sewer Hour), 2K3 (Turtle Titan) and Nick (Greg Cipes). Then you got him on COOTS playing guitar. I can't decide.

Donnie: 4Kids or Archie. 4kids Donnie moved him up my list to 2nd favorite Turtle and I always loved Archies Future Raph and Donnie dynamic. so it's a tough choice.
Raph: FW or Archie. See reasoning for Donnie. Rob Paulsen's Raph is my favorite, and Future Raph is a favorite character of mine. Mikey: Mirage into Image. Mirage established him as a sensitive artist, which they then forgot. Image took that trait and brought it back. Leo: Not sure. Of all the Turtles he's got the least variation of all. Probably Nick or IDW Leo, because he's still learning how to lead in those versions. Splinter: I've always loved the Hamato Yoshi is Splinter version of the origin. Always felt it was the more tragic and the most logically tied to Shredder. Of the universes that have done this version of Splinter, i'd probably give the baton to Archie. Shredder: Nick's Shredder has a lot of potential. I hope that when we learn his background he'll be my favorite Shredder. April: 4kids. She was smart and useful to the team. You didn't see her curling up into the fetal position when the Turtles were blasted to D'hunib. Casey: Mirage. He seemed to maintain his fighting spirit despite a lot of emotional hurdles.

I guess I'd go with Mirage Leonardo for the same reason Andrew picked him; Classic Toon Raphael because he doesn't lose his temper as easily as his other counterparts; Archie Future Donatello because he has that awesome metallic bo that shoots lasers; New Line Michaelangelo (circa Secret of the Ooze) because it's good to have someone who can lighten the mood when things get intense.
