Official Ep Discussion # 18 "Cockroach Terminator"

Whew... after our last episode of aliens, rock soldiers, and Donnie face-grabbing (I have a theory for that in last week's discussion, my dear over-analyzers!), it looks like we'll be continuing on the path of alien espionage... unfortunately, we'll be waiting until March 15th for it.

So Beware the Ides of March!!

After the unsuccessful attempt at destroying the Dimensional portal, the boys are now trying to find out how they can both stop the Kraang from bringing more evil critters from their home dimension AND trying to get our Crocodilian compadre (or Alligatorish ally?) back from the limbo battles of Traag, the Dimension X 'Bellator de saxo' (Cuz 'rock soldier' sounds so dull...)

Donatello... I love him to pieces. Reminds me of my brother. Can take random items and 'MacGuyver' them into any strange kind of contraption. A bit unorthodox at times... (rocket powered bo, anyone?)

Typically, when one deals in the matter of finding a cockroach, one would dispose of it right away - for Raph, that could mean flattening it to a pulp and/or setting it on fire and/or throwing it into the sewer. On the other hand, the first thing that comes to Donnie's mind is to strap cameras and a dremel saw to it's back.

And so we delve into the world of Bug Recon. One letter off, and you're dead meat. Or one wrong step, and you fall into a vat of acid....

So we'll see what happens...

WILL THE TURTLES GET ONE STEP CLOSER TO GETTING TO THE PORTAL?!
WILL RAPHAEL EVER GET OVER HIS ETERNAL HATRED OF BUGS?!
AND WHEN THE HECK IS THE NICK SITE GOING TO GET SOME PREVIEWS UP?!

This series' humor is ridiculous and I love it. Also, great tag team fight w/ Donnie & Mikey vs. the roach. Can't wait to see that again. Gotta say though, this is the first one that actually "felt" like a filler episode (to me at least). The beats between scenes seemed to go just a bit too long, like they were short on script. Not that I minded too much; Raph being scared out of his mind was fun to watch. Can't wait for the replay.

The episode was fine.

My thing with it is the episode seemed...out of sequence. We went from finding out The Kraang are after April and then she's not even in the next episode, not even a mention in the episode. This episode could have been right after "The Alien Agenda" and there would have been no difference in story continuity.

I don't think I heard the word "chong" even once in the episode. They probably decided to change his name.

Loved the episode. So now, just like snake weed, chong is coming back. Awesome. We know we will get cockroach chong, but wasn't there a TMNT fly figure mentioned? It could be for 2nd chong, or Baxter. My thoughts.

This was a fun episode! It was cool that we got to see a storyline that focused mainly on Raph. Chong was Nasty.. I gotta hand it to the animators, they did an awesome job at making him look disgusting.

The third form was beyond disgusting. I laughed out loud when Raph started to freak out.
