TMNT (2014) boost likelihood for TMNT (1990) Director's Cut?

With the impending release of the new TMNT film next summer it is highly likely that the older films will have new releases in what I'm sure we all hope is "true" special editions. This happens with most remakes of older franchises and TMNT is no different.
The one thing I want more above all else is the director's cut of the first movie. We know it's out there.... Now with the boost in interest for TMNT (with the new movie coming out) maybe they will finally put the time in to give us a proper release, restoring the deleted scenes.

I've never seen those picks! Pretty cool! I hope a special edition does come out. With added CGI! Just like the star wars ones!

Oh wow check out those photos! Yeah I have always thought they need to do a true Special Edition of movie 1. As many other older movies who have special editions it's way past time for the Turtles! That picture of Raph and Casey Raphael looks kinda of spooky because he looks so dark.

Every fiber of my being would like a special edition of the first movie! I'd like to see them clean up the scratchy print and improve the audio and include all of the deleted scenes.

How was the HD conversion for the Blu-ray? Did they go back to the film?

Interesting pics. I wanna know what's going on in the pic with Raph and Casey. Looks like Raph is either helping him up or something or trying to kill him..

Some reviewers are just ass hat. It's the User Reviews that you gotta keep an eye on.

4.1/5 ratings. And I personally have the blu ray set too, it certainly looks great.
Check out the sample screenshots section for yourself (click the images for higher quality).

It's actually an extended scene of the fight where we see Casey runs off and Raph chases him; they end up in an alley to resume the fight.

Ahh okay cool. Hope they do make an extended cut though. I wanna see that and the scenes that the other pics are from.

I would hope the special edition (God willing it ever happens) has a director's cut of the film, special features like making-of's with new and/or old interviews, deleted scenes, and a director's commentary.

With the interest soon to be peaked from this movie coming out, it would be a good idea to get some sort of petition happening? I seem to remember a site that used to deal with it. I am on my phone at the moment. I will look in to it when I can get to my desktop. I am sure we could get most of the users on this site to sign off on a petition, surely? Pass it around a few forums and facebook and I think it would gather a lot of signatures.

Edit:
I couldn't wait and I did it on my phone. I just wrote up a quick blurb that I will probably edit when I get home. I don't know if I should make a thread just for the petition or just use this one...

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/s...tant-ninja-tu/

I urge anyone who wants this to happen to put this in their user signature and share ot around! Those who don't, please sign!

An Extended Edition of TMNT would be awesome!

I would happily buy a copy. Or two!

Indeed. An extended version of TMNT would be the only reason I'd triple dip. (I double dipped for the German DVD.)
