Tmnt DVD

Ok Ithink every one is getting upset over nothing. I think any old Tmnt DVD is a good thing and if it sells well they will probably release more DVD's

Yes, but why bother re-releasing something that's the same as it was 12 years ago, just on a different media? I say since the technology to release an entire TV series is more plausible today, do that. Either sequencial DVDs or season sets, or none at all.

They should release the whole first season and see how it sells, but if it will indeed be "Epic Begins" everything is lost..

Buying the Epic Begins on DVD would be a waste of my money. The last thing I really need is an edited version of TMNT. It's a shame that Artisan is not only insulting the most highly demanded cartoon DVD by doing a crappy edited version of the first season but by pushing it back to 2004.

Oh quit your whining... I'm picking it up anyway. If it sells well we may indeed get some box sets. If it doesn't than they'll probably never make another DVD for TMNT. So buy it to support the cause. At least they are just re-releasing some of two episodes VHS sets. Imagine how much that would suck! Or even worse just random episodes from all the seasons that they feel should be on a DVD (like the new X-Men DVD for instance).

They do this kind of thing with tons of movies. They stick a VHS version on DVD maybe add one extra and call it good. At least for what we are getting we can expect it to be under 20 bucks.

Too bad Funimation doesnt have the rights to release the original show. I think they are a great pick for releasing the new TMNT DVDs, hopefully we will get every episode on DVD. Funimation has been fathfull to releasing the Dragonball Z series on DVD, maybe we will get lucky.

Yeah, it does seem the whole new TMNT show is coming to DVD. Atleast the whole first season, probably all that follows as well.

I'd rather have 2 episodes on DVD than the Epic Begins. At least they'd be full episodes.

So true... But if first if epic begins, It's like the DVD's that are out in Scandinavia, and if more DVD's will come they might be the same to, they have 3 episode per disc randomly take from first 3 seasons.

Bah that would be terrible! A best of collection might be okay, but random episodes would be awful.

Maybe they could start releasing seperate volumes after the epic begins. Each with 5 episodes. Hoping that the first tape would indeed be the entire 5 part mini-series. Like this...

Disc 1: "Turtle Tracks"
EP 01 - 05: the five part mini-series

Disc 2: "Return of the Shredder"
EP 06 - Return of the Shredder
EP 07 - The Incredible Shrinking Turtles
EP 08 - It Came from Beneath the Sewers
EP 09 - The Mean Machines
EP 10 - Curse of the Evil Eye

Disc 3: "Invasion of the Punk Frogs"
EP 11 - Case of the Killer Pizzas
EP 12 - Enter: The Fly
EP 13 - Invasion of the Punk Frogs
EP 14 - New York's Shinest
EP 15 - Splinter No More

Disc 4: "Return of the Technodrome"
EP 16 - Teenagers from Dimension X
EP 17 - The Cat Woman from Channel Six
EP 18 - Return of the Technodrome
EP 19 - Beneath the Sewers
EP 20 - Turtles on Trial

Disc 5: "Sky Turtles"
EP 21 - Attack of the 50 Foot Irma
EP 22 - The Maltese Hamster
EP 23 - Sky Turtles
EP 24 - The Old Switcheroo
EP 25 - Burne's Blues

Of course that would take up a lot of shelf space eventually...

Disc 6: "The Fifth Turtle"
EP 26 - The Fifth Turtle
EP 27 - Enter the Rat King
EP 28 - Turtles at the Earth's Core
EP 29 - April's Fool
EP 30 - Attack of the Big MACC

Yes, Sanil mail is the only way to really affect anything, but it would probably require MANY letter to really have an effect..

I don't understand why they would not just release the original TMNT first season set. Considering it is only 5 episodes. Some companies just don't seem to know how to release things on DVD. Fox does seem to have there act together with DVD releases, just look at Buffy. They have been faithfull to that series on DVD. As long as we all buy the DVDs we should have no problem getting the whole series on DVD.

Buffy is a little diffrent thing, that one of the cult TV-Shows of modern age. It's guaranteed to sell. Late 80's - early 90's cartoons are more of a risk.

About the only thing you could compare TMNT by what we'd like in DVD sets would be Transformers. Rhino is doing an excellent job with that.

What artisan should do is realease the whole first season unedited, See if it sells and then release more. If it's just epic begins, it might not sell to well.
