What are your favorite significant character developments for each Turtle?
It doesn't matter what universe.
Im working on a fan project with my brother and I want to hear from the biggest TMNT fans about what your favorite significant character developments are for each turtle. ex. In the 2007 cgi movie and 2k3 show both had Leo sent away by Splinter to a different part of the world to better himself. Im sure it probably happened in the comics too. Feel free to include any character you want and the examples of what they've been through. So what is some of your favorite, most meaningful and most memorable chracter developments in the TMNT Universe?

Leo being able to connect to Splinter through meditation in the first film.
Michelangelo becoming a writer in Vol. 3 of the comics. Raphael coming to face his mortality and how alone he and his brothers are in Sons Of The Silent Age (Mirage comic). Donatello being a psycho who kept Baxters remains in a secret sewer chamber for god knows how long without telling anyone in The Brain Thief mini series from Tales Vol. 2. Just a few that come to mind. |

2k12 Leo in "Never Say Xever" - this was the episode that proved to me that he could make decisions on his own and not by Captain Ryan. I loved it. Yet, I think he's developing into a better leader outside of Space Heroes now that the season is going by.
Mirage Mikey in the issue where he writes that comic book. I absolutely loved how the writers brought his creative side. Plus, that shot of him in the Batman t-shirt was priceless. 2k12 Donnie in the two Pulverizer episodes. No matter how stupid or misguided someone may be, Donnie sure knows when to act nice to those people. Plus, I loved how he devoted himself to make the Pulverizer better. Even if it was a failure, he still used some good effort. Let's now hope Donnie will soon move on from April. Movie 2 Raph - Helping out Keno was something I did not really expect from someone who wanted to work alone. Last edited by Bauer536; 06-08-2013 at 08:53 PM. |

The Good Genes arc in the 2k3 show where Donatello is mutated a second time into a horrible, mindless monster and his brother's have to strike a deal with Bishop in order to find him a cure. I LOVE this entire arc and I really wish the aftermath of what Don experienced through this mutation had been further explored. It does a terrific job in giving Don an extra dimension to his experiences, the potential for some serious depth and growth to his character while likewise giving room to see how his brothers feel when faced with this type of situation, losing one of their own and how they deal with the circumstances of restoring their broken family.
I suppose you could say this is more of a "what if" type of thing about the real development the turtles experienced from this arc, but it has such a raw potential I had to mention it. Plus, I'm just kind of obsessed with it and it's hands down my favorite turtle story out of everything XD

cool comic references, powder ![]() bossa nova, i definitely agree that good genes was awesome! one of the best story arcs of the series i always thought donnie or mikey would watch star trek or space heroes before leo ![]() i guess they did it more for leo to not be so serious and to teach him lessons.

Mikey winning the Battle Nexus Tournament.
He's always depicted a tad weak at times in the team, but then BAM! He's the strongest in the universe, man! That's my fave turtle!

Leo facing his fear of heights in "Tales of Leo" from the 2K3 show, facing his fear of failure in the 2K3 show, facing his fear of snakes in the OT, and learning about how mercy doesn't make you weak in the 2K12 show.
For Raph: Learning about how anger can make you lose focus in 2K3 and 2K12, learning about the true burden of leadership in the 2K12 show. For Mikey: Learning not to befriend strangers on the Internet because you never know who they truly are in the 2K12 show. For Donnie: Learning about his responsibility to Tim and how Splinter gave him that task in the two Pulverizer episodes of 2K12.
