Did anyone ever wonder why they could never make up their minds on what colors the Turtles' face masks were? I mean, in one comic, they're all red. In others, they're blue, orange, purple and red still included. What's the deal?

Well, in the original comics the masks were all red, which didn't matter much because the comic was in black and white. When the cartoon came out, they all got different colors to help young viewers tell them apart.

Makes sense, but still. One has to wonder, could they never make up their minds?

Welcome to the world of versions! The masks never bothered me.. it was how they had the letters of their names on their belts.

But has anyone else noticed this... I remeber seeing Mike with a yello bandana in some of the earlier cartoon episodes. Am I right, or was I just seeing things.

Well, yellow and orange are similar, the animators maybe got it mixed up, or it was the lighting.

I remember seeing him dressed in yellow a few times, too. I've always been interested in how the different colored masks could be explained...

I wish I had more comic books. I just found out that a Mile High Comics store is only twenty minutes away from where I live! I can't wait to visit it during the summer...

I've never really read the comics, but the thought sort of popped into my head and it wouldn't go away until I asked someone.

Maybe Mike, in the eps you saw HT, was just wearing a particularily light orange mask. I've noticed how sometimes the masks sometimes look lighter and darker in diff eps, but also their shade of green changes slightly too with each ep. But then again, with each ep there is often times different artwork too, depending on which animators were working on it.

LOL! Yikes, so that would explain the yellow mask...I did notice transitions in animation as the series progressed, but I didn't notice big differences until I compared an episode from the original season with another from around '93.

With each ep, huh? When I watch the TV it can change every second It depends on the quality of the broadcast
