Best and worst Turtle weapons?

Okay, I'm presenting this question to people who actually know about martial arts and weapons.

Are any of the Turtles' weapons clearly better or worse than the others? I know it's partly about who wields it, but for example, nunchaku seem really difficult to control and inefficient and not likely to do as much damage as a katana or a bo. Sai, unsharpened, don't seem good for much either. Does anyone know much about this? I don't know why everyone disses the bo though. It seems like an awesome weapon.

Thank you! I also am wondering if katanas are actually efficient to use one-handed. Aren't they kind of two-handed weapons?

Since nunchucks were designed as a tool for farming, I'm saying those are the most useless.

If We're being honest Leo of course would have the advantage with Raph having the least. Sai's are mostly used for dissarming or scaling, and while you can stab with them they're more useful as a club than anything else. The Nunchaku are best suited for mis-direction when fighting. Not very practical against multiple enemies but swinging them can make you hard to approach.

That's kind of what I thought. Hmm. How about bo vs. katana?

Both were. Nunchucks were used to essentially knock down reeds. Sai's at least have a pointy end.

While a Katana is more suited for Murder, A Bo is design to attack from a distance like a Spear. This leaves the Katana at a disadvantage, really the Katana can only really fight Nunchaku. Sai's are mean't to break and disarm them and a Bo staff makes it difficult to approach without being attacked.

Well.

Sword:
The Katana is obviously a tool for killing, a long sharp bladed weapon forged with a special technique giving the Japanese swords their signature curved blade. giving the wielder a long range of awesome cutting and slashing power. A proper well made Katana can cut through 3-4 people standing next to each other.

Designed to kill in one strike, usually through the same motion of unsheathing, its easy to pick up for anyone, but difficult to master.

Wood:
The Bo is a long staff made usually out of hard wood, like red or white oak. longer range then the sword, the Bo have range and crushing damage on its side. A Bo can easily crush human bones, skulls, arms, knees, all broken and crushed. The Bo can also seriously harm a katana, to the point that in katas featuring sword vs staff, the sword wieder is on the defensive, due to the dangerous crushing force and range the Bo have, and the capability to have a very expensive weapon ruined by a "simple piece of wood".

it is also a walking stick, no one will give a vagabond with a walking stick a second look compared to a guy wearing swords. Or in modern time, some guy walking with a broom handle. Also hard to properly master.

Salad Tongs:
The Sai is a truncheon weapon, a metal baton with two extra prongs. Defensive and offensive, you protect your arms with the long prongs to block attacks, or ensnare other weapons to lock then or completely disarm. For attacking you can swing it like a baton or strike with the butt end of the handle as a focus point to your strikes. Usually worn in threes, the third Sai is used as a throwing weapon, where you throw it at the opponents feet.

A difficult weapon to know how to handle if you have no concept of what a Sai do, since it is held very "untraditional" compared to other weaponry. A close quarter weapon as it's a punch strike enhancer, blocker and trapper. comes in different variants (manji sai, jutte)

Rice Whacker:
The nunchuck like the Sai is an Okinawan weapon. Romanticized as a pheasant rebellion weapon, but really a unpopular aristocrat weapon. probab;y the easiest of the four weapons to self harm yourself. A great weapon to practice and improve posture, form. The weapon effective as a multiple striker, getting in more hits before the opponent gets in any.

Can be wielded in pairs, but will hinder it's mobility and techniques. Hard to handle and master, no traditional katas. Got lots of fascinating origin theories and mythology around it.

I'd say the Nunchaku is the hardest to handle and master, as just a flail it is very inefficient compared to other flail weapons. You have to know what you are doing. Next would be the sai for its strangeness and unique way of handling it. then Bo, simple piece of wood, but to use it effectively as you should use a Bo, still requires training, if not. A pair of short stick would be a lot better to use for a amateur. And lastly katana. Anyone can pick up a sword and cut someone with ease, that's what swords are for.

Lots of great info there. Thanks. Although I'm curious as to exactly when the "pheasants" rebelled. They're usually pretty docile, and tasty.

WELL.... Kappa nailed it.
Anything I was going to say and a bit more...

Although I would point out the nunchuku has incredible crushing power as well.
I was originally trying to find this video I watched where someone demonstrated a nunchuku strike on a crash dummy that would be used to monitor a car crash in automotive crash tests. The dummy was hooked up to sensors that would relay information back to a computer that would then show the impact and damage the body in various areas would receive.
All I could find was Stan Lee's Superheros show from History Channel with a monk who demonstrates his deadly one-inch punch on one of these dummies.

So, instead, here's a nunchuku video I recorded

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...0317748&type=3

I would say all the weapons the Turtles use are excellent weapons but they all have a downside as well as an upside.
Additionally, if the Turtles are skilled in their weapons enough, no one Turtle should be able to best the others if they were all at the same skill set.
Donnie, in the Nick show, shows constant frustration over his staff and is often bested by his brothers.

I have taken classes for staff and sai and a brief moment with nunckuku.
The staff is the "mother of all weapons". Master the staff and you can pick up anything as a weapon after. The staff requires desipline and training, as it is prone to striking back if you're not aware of what you're doing or what it's doing.

All weapons should be an extension of yourself so if you're clumsy with a weapon, there is a reason for that.

The sai are a lot of fun and the nunchuku seemed fun but I hardly got to use them.

Neat; but I wish to know more about the Pheasant Rebellion, and whether it took place before or after the legendary Great Quail Uprising.

LMFBO, I almost woke up my wife from laughing so hard. That's great

Too bad that lady didn't have nunchuks! Although I SWEAR they existed before 2010, which would have FAR preceded this specific Pheasant Rebellion. Wonder what the pheasants were so mad about anyway? Hunting? If pheasants didn't want to be hunted, they would simply cease being delicious. That's just common sense.
