DreamWave #2 Discussion (Spoilers)

So, who all got their copy today?

This one was pretty good. The first was a little better, mostly because this one was scattered around (but it made sense). The art is good, again.

This one also had some humor too it, like little talking TMNT dolls/toys.

Discuss amongst your selves.

I have to wait till I get out of work today. Can't wait!

Also, here's a confirmation from the DW forums that this comic series will be an ongoing one. Whoo-hoo!

I liked this issue. The backstory into Aprils past was a nice touch, the humour was great, and the art was top notch as usual.

**Spoilers ahead**

The preview we saw is a dream April has after seeing the turtles and fainting in which she relives parts of her childhood (and how she wants to be a reporter) her college years and finally her day where she meets the Turtles.

Really creative and interesting stuff in this issue. I dug it a lot.

I love the wild, crazy art style. Great job LeSean.

Also picked up Transformers Armada #13. Next issue is going to be HUGE.

Great issue! I love DW's art for all their comics, so detailed and industrial looking, which is why I bought one of the Transformers comics too. But yeah, I missed the first issue of this, because my local comic shop solled out the first day, so I figured I'd get this issue today no matter what. I had to wait an hour and a half because they had just opened the store and just barely gotten all their orders in and they were still in the boxes, but yeah, I finally got it. Great stuff! Well worth the 1 1/2 hour wait!

*spoilage!*

I thought Don with the beard and cigar was hilarioous. Also loved the other panel where April thwacks Raph's illusion into the trashcan. Love the way LeSean draws in the craziness of Baxter too. My only gripe was a minor drawing error. VW bugs don't have a split rear window. Unless that was just more strangeness from April's dream. ;p

It did take me awhile too, to realize the *whole* thing was her delusional dream, like from the first time she passed out. That makes much more sense then. I first thought she had a bad case of the "voices in her head", and then wondered how the hay she had Turtles as one of her voices if she never really seen them before. :p

Overall, I enjoyed the little twists in the story that Peter David adds. Especially in how he attempted to give April more of a background, as well as a way to tie in the old cartoon tv reporter bit. In all the other Mirage comics I have read, hardly ANYthing is said about April's past. Other than she had a father who owned an antique store, and a (step) sister out in LA.

As a whole I liked this issue. It is interesting to see a new take on familiar characters and events. As everyone else has already mentioned LeSean's art is fantastic.

At the same time though, I find myself thinking: "I know about all of this. Let's get to some completely new stuff." Well I guess I'll get my wish starting in Issue #5.

The Volkswaggon was Bumblebee! Even said so on the licence plate.

I just noticed that after the fact. Cool!

But either way... I don't think he had a split rear window, did he? *eyeshift* Ain't I a bugger to be wasting my time nitpicking over these minor details?

Thanx guys

Peace all,
Just pokin my head in to say I'm gladyou guys enjoyed issue #2, which means issue #3 will be another entertaining blast.

the only bad thing i've heard about these issues is that they're TOO SHORT! people want more than 22 pages, heh. hopefully, we'll be
able to give you what you crave as the issues go forward..

Peter Davids got plenty of surprises that will knock ya socks off, making TMNT fun all overagain.

see ya in 27 days.......

Yeah, me too. I'm glad they atleast go a little deeper though. Like with issue one and the dragon and cop being friends as children.

I can't complain about the art though. I especially liked the TMNT mouser-bashing panels.

Oh and what's issue #5?

That's supposed to be when the comic ventures away from the animated series. I don't know how far or in which direction though.
