For some reason I can't see anybody but him doing the Dreamwave series...which is strange, cause as far as the Mirage series goes, there are a ton of great artists I'd love to see draw it.

I guess the Dreamwave series has such a distinct look, it seems like another style would totally mess it up.

That's how they did the old Archie series though. They originally started with Ken Mitchroney and wound up with Dean Clarrain, who's artwork turned out to be really great.
