Should the Turtles age in the new movies?
Since we got the new film released this year, The sequel will come out in 2016, So I was thinking.
Should the Turtles be aging in these movies? in 2014, They were 15 years old, in 2016, They will be 17 years old, Yet still Teenagers. If the sequel makes a ton of money, and they decide to do more, Should they age the Turtles in the sequels coming forward? It'll get to the point where they might turn 21 years old and become young adults. And they would eventually have to drop the Teenage in the titles. I would love to see them grow and mature. Yes please, at least in number. I mean, they're trying to go "realistic" with these films, right?
Although a number was never mentioned and personally, if the first movie had to be sure to mention that they are teenagers, they felt more like late teens to me. Mikey is really the only one that carried the whole "teen" thing at all. If the film had said so I could have easily believed the other three in comparison had already hit their 20s. Personal preference... they're 18 or 19 in first film and in the next two years have passed as in real life and they're 20. Dropping the "teen" part of the title for the next. If they're 15-year-olds in the first, if we're being realistic those boys could still be growing... and people thought they were too big already? Just you wait. lol |

As for the Titles, They should Drop the Teenage in the name, and just go with Ninja Turtles: Whatever the subtitle |

Edit: I could see one sequel taking place around Halloween and a 21+ Mikey taking advantage of the local PubCrawl. Heh. |

To a degree, yes, they should. But they won't. I don't see it happening.

They can grow older, but still have the mentality of Teenagers, We know a lot of people who are like that here, They are older, But still act as if they were Teenagers.

My vote would be yes, they should age, but I suppose it doesn't really matter to me. It's always seemed that the "teenage" tag has always felt a bit arbitrary to me as so far the only incarnation that has made any effort to have them obviously teenage is Nickelodeon. Most versions they could easily be young adults (often with Mikey being the only one demonstrating youth traits) and they feel older than 15 in the new film already.

You know people are gonna start to question this as the years go by and say. "Aren't they adults by now?"
But seriously, They should drop the Teenage in the title for the sequels and just go with Ninja Turtles. |

If they will age? Given the fact that the actors for the human characters has to, I guess "technically" the turtles will age but I don't think it will be intentional.
Unless of course they swap out the human characters like they did with the fourth Transformers movie. That way you won't notice wrinkles in time... |

I would love to see them age. I mean, the beginning of this movie was showing their growing to where they are now. No need to not continue that. Too bad there is no girl turtle in any equation. It would be nice to have a new group of young turtles to start all over again in the future. Maybe some more babies getting mutated in the future? hmmm

It's not like they ever acted specifically like teenagers.
I don't see a point unless to throw a random birthday cake scene people will complain about. |

Cause everybody complained about the Mutation Day scene in the first episode of the cartoon.

Hey, cake is good, Turtles need cake, too.
(Or that "pizza cake" that's been going around Facebook, etc.) |
