Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Color Classics Vol. 2 #7

WTF is up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Color Classics Vol. 2 #7??
They color the 3 clones in multi-colors and they even change color from panel to panel.

If you scroll down there you can see more if you haven't seen the issue.
I just now came across it.
It looks like they really came up with a loss for what to do with these guys.

I don't understand why it's so hard for them to do a bit of research.
I mean ok you could have made them all green and matching Shredders outfit from the comics like they did on the cover.

Or you could of made them flesh color like in the 2k3 toon.

LOL, this is why I don't buy the color classics or "The Works" collections.

I do think the Classics and Tales coloring is done better for the most part.

Its hard to believe they did this for such a serious and somber story like Return to New York too. They look like color-coded Power Rangers or something.

Yeah, really bizarre. I haven't seen the rest of the book but everything else seems fine. Why they decided to go this route with the clones is baffling.

Speaking of the Color Classics, anyone have an opinion of Volume 2 #4? It's "Distractions" the Japanese Mikey solo story.

Seems like when it comes to layering color over anything related to Shredder, the IDW hires just panic and do something absolutely insane: blue full body suit in the 1st issue, tooty fruity helmet in the 1990 Movie Special edition, etc.

So....why is "Shiva-Shredder sportin' 2 Blue arms and 2 Purple arms in this image? (i mean aside from the obvious "Why is it colored this way, period?" question.)
Spoiler:

This is the most baffling color choices I've ever seen. Thank god these issues were already printed in the Ultimate collections in black and white. We're lucky this isn't the only re-release of these comics under IDW.

The boys look good, as always. The clones look ridiculous.

IDW, please pick somebody from the fanbase, such as myself, to give these a brief viewing before they see print so that these grievous errors can be spotted & fixed.

Heck, what professional would have thought THAT was fit to print? Anyone with eyes should know better.

A screw up on top of a screw up. Who would've thought? That's pretty sad because otherwise I like the earthy look it has to it except for the weirdly colored clones.

Yeah I was looking forward to a nice colored collection of RTNY, but this sloppy job kept me from buying the Works v3, sorry I. D. Dubs.

I'm kinda wondering what went through the minds of the people who colored this. Didn't they see the cover of the original issue from Mirage right next to them to see what they look like in color?

So how the hell do they go from that to color-coding them Power Ranger style and making their entire bodies a single color, not even giving them tan skin or anything? Its mind boggling.

The fact that the colorist actually got a paycheck for this too is even more wrong. He gets money to do absolute garbage and there's nobody around to check this stuff.

The unfortunate thing here is that, unlike the colored Mirage TPB lines, the coloring in "Color Classics"/"The Works" (as the collected hardcovers are labeled), is overall very good.

But this is really ... I can't even imagine what the thought process was here.

Everytime they see Shredder in Mirage they go crazy and give him a full blue bodysuit or go rainbow colored on him. I'm honestly guessing at this point that the colorist is either mentally ill or just doesn't care about his job and is just doing it for a paycheck.

I found the coloring in the Color Classics ranging from bad to okay enough. But I stopped buying them around issue 10. It was just too mismatching for me.
