Artisan's got the distribution rights for DVD and VHS, but I don't think anyone has the broadcast rights at present.

VHS and DVD production rights belong to Artisan and I'm pretty sure the broadcast rights belong to Hallmark. And yes the crappy ass Epic Begins DVD comes out sometime next year and it will bomb because Artisan is full of morons

Same with Buena Vista holding SatAM Sonic DVD Rights and Eisner is an idiot. Alot of people at www.satamsonic.com are going to bomb them good.

"crappy epic begins" <----???? um ok...... that is no way a crapy ep, that has to rank up there in the top 10 TMNT eps out of them all. For starters its in series one (which has to be the overall best for its numbers).
lol, there are heeps more worse eps than that one my friend. What makes u dislike it so much? |

Probably the fact that it is the first 5 eps EDITED into a 72 minute movie. That is why I don't like it. Getting 5 episodes full to a DVD can't be that hard, can it?

Ya and it doesn't take too long to make one with 5 episodes, longer seasons would take time as well. But I'll wait until there will be DVD releases of the original. Maybe have all 1987-1996 seasons would be great.

Does anyone have the air rights for the show now? I think if someone would want to show the series Mirage would sell them the license.

I believe that Fred Wolf Films is owned by Hallmark right now, I don't remember how or why but that's just what I remember hearing.

At this point, I'm willing to accept anything. If the project for "The Epic Begins" really is in the works, maybe it will be better than we all think.

And, if this DVD sells TOO well, Artisan will think that the fanbase of this series is just a bunch of whiny little fanboys and girls who will complain about anything, but buy it anyway. That way, THEY win, and our integrity is battered.
I truly hope that they took my suggestion of releasing The Epic Begins simultaneously with an UNCUT season 1, but I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. So, we should really leave THE EPIC BEGINS to whatever indifferent parent decides to buy it for their kids.
