The Best Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation Episodes & Why

Feel free to list your favorites and the ones you think are the best and why. Kinda the point of the thread but Here it goes.

1. The Unchain my heart episodes(1-4). It's not a singular episode but this story arch is one of the best in the franchise. Plain and simple.

-They have to protect a heart from a vampire as it is venus de milo's sworn duty to do. The Shinobi has a history of fighting vampires and the other turtles always do the right thing so they must help obviously.

-All the while Simon Bonesteel keeps popping up. Leo becomes frusturated with the way Bonesteel is always able to track and capture them so he takes it into his own hands. Studying hunting techniques and honing his skills to be one step ahead of bonesteel and have a new element to his already mastered techniques.

2. The Good Dragon

- The Good Dragon depicts the story of how Dragon Lord and the rank came to be. Letting them know that not all Dragons are bad. In fact that most Dragons were good until Dragon lord started corrupting them. The good Dragon ends up saving Venus, and upon his capture from the Rank Venus decides they must save him. Raph is against it but Venus insists. The Episode ends with The Good Dragon going back into the mirror willingly and warning Dragon Lord that he will come back with more good dragons and Stop His reign of terror.

3. Turtles' Night Out

- In this episode Michelangelo runs a pirate radio station. Adding depth to his character. He is spotted by Bonesteel going in for a slice, a fight ensues and he's had it. Mikey broadcasts to all his listeners that he is going to throw a party in benefit of animals to protect them from scum like Bonesteel. And they must come dressed as their favorite animal. The party happens, there's some street toughs that come to wreck the party and steal the money but they are taken care of as well as Bonesteel when he comes to hunt.
It's just a fun episode with a good message. It's bad to hunt and endanger/hurt animals and that's something we can all get behind.

I could do on and on but honorable mentions: Anything with Silver in it. He is such a polarizing villain that can be broadcast anywhere in the franchise and be successful. But like all these villians should stay exclusive to this part of the franchise; The Dr. Quease episode where he makes robot clones of the turtles; and as much as I hate clip shows, the final episode. It really shows where they have come together as a group.

PS. Let's all be adults here, I know we all aren't but there is a certain level of maturity expected. We don't need those idiots going "Oh a next mutation thread, I'm gonna comment how bad it is and not read it or provide any insight"

My favs are similar to yours.

The Good Dragon: I thought Raph and Venus in this episode were good together.

Turtles Night Out: When those punks showed up to take the money I thought Yeah right, the guys are going to whip your butts before that happens. Leo and Donnie are hot as they pick up the Lamb and the Gazelle. Too bad Raph had to splash some cold water on them.

King Wick: I adore Wick and he gets control this episode.

Like Brothers: It's a clip episode, but Raph and Leo's fight is hilarious. It was funny the way they piss off Venus and she tells them off in the end. Then they act like it was normal for them to fight like that. Leo was really good in this episode.

Every episode Silver is in. I loved him as a villain. I didn't think Dragonlord was bad at all either. His objective was simply to eat them. It's a shame there were so few episodes. I wonder how things would have developed if they had continued the show.

I know a lot of people think this show is horrible, but if you watch it as a standalone TMNT show, it's not that bad.

Is there one where they all get massacred? Seriously, I never thought I could hate the Ninja Turtles until I saw that show.

I'll just wait here and watch the fireworks as this thread inevitably devolves into fans versus haters.

If it takes too long, I'll just spill a little blood into the water by saying things like "Venus was awesome" and "this show is not as bad as people make it out to be."

Agreed Next Mutation is the worst thing to come to the turtles franchise. But of course letting Saban touch it no wonder it sucked. Nick turtles and the 2014 movie are better.

C'mon, children. It's not funny, it's not original, it's just sad. Give us one thread.

I think it is pretty pathetic that the second reply in this thread completely ignores the creator's request to lay off the hate. Kinduva dick move.

And what's even worse is it wasn't surprising... hence popcorn and a good seat behind the couch.

But hey, somebody else likes "The World's End" so it's not a total loss of a thread.

off topic, but if they like Simon and Frost, they probably like that movie but it's a still from "Shaun of the dead"

That turtle behind the couch is adorable. I don't mind the haters. We fans have our likes and dislikes. When it comes to the turtles there are so many issues that have lovers and haters that it can baffle the mind. The writers have a huge chore when it comes to pleasing everyone.

But it's not creative, the hate for TNM. Most of it's fueled by other people hating it just for the sake for hating it and fitting in.
the biggest gripe I hear is that it's not 'gritty' which is ridiculous cause it's a live action kids show about ninja turtles. I can understand the hate about adding a 5th turtle but it sticks to the core values of the franchise. Family, fighting, the designs are generally on point. ACTUALLY BEING ABOUT THE TURTLES; As well as loosely followed the movies.

up until the 2014 movie the general outline of the turtles was the same.

You can't please everyone but it certainly gets a lot of underserved hate.

Even for the people (who for whatever reason expected this live action kids series to be dark/gritty/serious) There is those elements in some story lines. They ripped out a vampires heart [they didn't show that part it was implied] and stuck it in a box. They literally had a heart smoking and pulsating in a box. For example.

well if the show was so good why was it cancelled after one season ?. Don't be mad that 90% of the turtle fanbase denounces this show.

Saying that TNM was canned because it was bad is like claiming that Bayturtles made money because it was good.

Season 2 of TNM was in development for a while, and it had a run of 26 episodes in the first season. If it were that much of a crushing failure, don't you think they would have aborted it after two or three episodes (like the recent ill-fated Wonder Woman tv series?)

Some people like TNM. Some don't. I think some people base their dislike of the show on the fact that: a) Laird has been vocal about not liking it, b) a lot of people love to rag on it, despite not having watched the show in years, and c) they can't let go of their own self-consciousness enough to enjoy anything about the show.

What people enjoy about the show is the creativity. People can see past the bad production values to enjoy some of the original ideas that were in the show - and if TNM had been done as animated from the get-go, rather than live action, it would probably be regarded very differently.

Bottom line - nobody knows why the show got canned. An official reason has never been given. Some people say that it wasn't getting the ratings that Fox wanted. Some people say that it was getting good ratings, but the production costs were too high in the long-term. Some people say that it could have been down to complications with Saban. Nobody knows, so it's all conjecture.

If you don't have anything to more intelligent to contribute than variations of "Ugh, teh suckz" over and over, go read another thread.

To be honest, it's talk like this that I don't understand. People say that it's not fair that people who hate the 2014 movie go into the 2014 movie section just to hate, then the people who complain about that come into threads like this just to say they hate NM.

TNM was apparently pretty popular when it aired, but Saban canceled it to focus on Power Rangers, not for its quality.

I actually read somewhere that NM was getting higher ratings than Power Rangers, but I've never been able to find anything solid to confirm it. The story I heard was that Saban owned a bigger percentage of Power Rangers than NM so they wanted to focus on making PR a big earner again? I have no idea if there's any truth to this - it's just one of the NM snippets floating around online.

I like Turtles' Night Out too, because of the pirate radio - I thought that was a nice idea.

Makes sense to me. I would bet that the average TNM episode was quite expensive to make, so perhaps it was not as profitable as they would have liked.

That's what happened to the Robocop series around the same time; it got good ratings but it cost so much to make that it wasn't profitable.

Also, IINM, Saban didn't make any money off TNM merchandise because they didn't own the characters.

I use to actually like the theme song. It sucks Netflix cant use it for some reason. The show was pretty bad as I remember but haven't seen a full episode in many years so not fair to say until I watch it again sometime. Wasn't April and Casey suppose to show up in season 2 which they was planning to do?
