What if Ace Duck had his own episode in the original toon?

I had the craziest dream lastnight, about Ace Duck! I dreamed that I somehow stumbled across a long lost episode of the OT that was never seen before, and what I remember from this "episode" is the 4 turtles and Casey Jones walking around the sewer and then out of nowhere, Ace Duck pops up out of the water (like Rat King sometimes does) and joins forces with Casey and the turtles! I actually saw Ace Duck walking around on his own 2 feet and not just on the turtles TV screen. He was interacting with Casey and the turtles in the sewer, that is all I could remember from the dream, and when I woke up I was pretty bummed out upon realization that this episode does not exist, only the 5 second cameo of Ace Duck on "Attack of Big MACC".

This got me thinking the whole day, what if Ace Duck had gotten his own episode? I wonder how he would talk, what the episode plot would be. His action figure bio card states he was a pilot for the turtles, so I'm guessing they'd first show him as a human and how he mutates into a duck after Krang's mutagen experiment gone wrong. Then he would probably join forces with the turtles piloting the turtle blimp so they can serve justice to Krang and Shredder. Or I wonder if they would instead portray him as an actor since Michelangelo was watching an Ace Duck Film Festival on TV. I know many TMNT fans could care less about Ace Duck, but I myself am very fond of the character, probably just because of the action figure bringing back memories, which is why I wish they had used Ace Duck more in the cartoon.

I'm not even sure if this is posted in the correct section, but I just wanted to share this somewhere.

Did you ever read the Archie TMNT comics? They had a very unique version of Ace Duck in there. He's an interagalactic wrestling champion, of all things.

But yeah it's a shame he didn't get his fair due in the Fred Wolf cartoon. I'd have loved a full appearance from him myself. I think Townsend or Pat coulda gave him some real moxie.

I haven't actually read the comics themselves, but I have seen images here and there of Ace Duck as wrestler, he looks really buff and wearing a speedo I think. But yeah I definitely wanna read the Archie comics at some point, it would be all new content to me.

It really is a shame Fred Wolf never made more use of Ace Duck. It would have made sense because Ducktales was popular at the time, which ironically also had a pilot duck, Launchpad McQuack. Perhaps they didn't want them to think they stole their idea?

That's a really cool drawing btw! He looks more like a badass pilot there then how he's usually depicted.

If Ace Duck had an episode, it would probably have been that the Turtles were sucked into the TV show that he stars in.

I did have another idea, what if Karai showed up in an episode? I figure it would pretty much be a "The boss comes in" episode, I can see it now:

Shredder: Soon we will take over the world Krang! This time we will...

Karai: Saki!

Shredder: What in the..? Oh! Mistress!

Krang: Shredder, who is this woman?

Shredder: Show some respect you dislocated lobe! This is the head of the Foot clan!

Krang: I thought you said you were...

Shredder: Uh, no... I never said that...

Karai: Quiet, I came here to observe the New York branch of the Foot clan.

Shredder: Well I hope you are pleased!

Karai: Pleased?! Is that a joke?

Shredder: What could possibly mean, mistress? look at the magnificence of base!

Karai: It's been seven years since I gave you permission to start a branch in New York, claiming that you had obtained a great wealth of resources, and what do I find seven years later? A wreck of a base at the bottom of the ocean and a clan whose only real members are two childish freaks and uncooked calamari!

Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady: HEY!!!

Karai: Quiet! What's your excuse Saki?

Shredder: ... Uhm... Teenage delinquents?

I think the only reason Ace Duck didn't get an episode is because he was one of the first toys that came out and the first seasons didn't have a lot of mutant of the week episodes, they were much more careful on what new mutant they added to the show for some reason and we would get generic mobster/mad scientist/shredder plot instead. If the toy had been released more around S4 or 5 he definitely would've gotten an episode.

Too bad since Ace was one of my favorite toys as a kid and he always helped the turtles when I played with him. I was actually disappointed by his brief appearance in the Archie comic since he only shows up for a little bit, looks nothing like the Ace that we know and didn't have a nice personality. The cartoon version of origins were always different than the toy descriptions so it would've been different if he had appeared on TV. I think we had a good thread about Ace the duck a couple of years back, you should search for it. Personally I like the theory that the origin of Ace the Duck in the OT is somewhat similar to his toy bio, except Krang and teh turtles never realized what happened and he uses his new looks to become a movie star, hence his 5 second cameo on TV.

Didn't know that. Never had that toy.

But maybe the Turtles could fight him at first and then befriend him? Wouldn't be the first time in the OT.

That would certainly make sense, because yeah most of the turtles allies in the OT were thought to be enemies at first: Casey Jones, Punk Frogs, Usagi Yojimbo, Metalhead, Mondo Gecko, the list goes on. I'm sure Ace Duck would have been no exception.

I wonder if they would have just stuck to Ace Duck's actor/movie star gimmick and just had him come out of the TV world and into the turtles universe to go on some crazy mission with them, I think like they did in "Rondo in New York".

Man I wish they had made an Ace Duck episode!

edit: Just re-read the toy bio and as a human he was "famous test pilot Ace Conrad" so he was already famous before he got mutated into a duck. I think the toy bios were usually consistent with the OT for the most part.

Didn't his action figure packaging describe him as the valet of the Turtle Blimp? It might have been cool to have him play that role once in a while in the old show, but I guess that probably would have been an unnecessary character duplication to the cast since all of the Turtles seemed to be semi-competent at piloting the thing when the plot called for it.

EDIT: Come to thin of it... were all the turtles shown piloting the blimp at some point. Donatello was the primary captain, but I do remember Raphael doing it from time to time as well. I can't remember regarding Leo or Mikey though.

Ace Duck wasn't used because in Season 1 Don piloted the blimp and his toy came out around Season 2 when he wasn't needed.

I remember Leo piloting the Blimp quite frequently. He did fly it in Enter the Fly and Sky Turtles. I only remember Mikey flying it in one episode I can't remember and in Turtles Forever. Would have been nice to have Ace Duck appear in a major role as I did have the figure before getting all the Turtles.

It would have been cool to have a lot more of the secondary characters stick around. I'd be down with Ace staying on as the blimp's pilot. Metalhead should've stayed too, but maybe drop the "all 4 turtles' voices" thing. The way they handled Slash will always be the low point of the old show for me, though.
