So, why only male mutants?

Is there some kind of stigma against female mutants, or maybe a mandate stating that they only want male mutants added to the show?

Seriously, the odds of just males being mutated is very unlikely. In most areas there usually tebd to be more females than males and yet the only female mutants we've seen are Ice Cream Kitty and the mutant lizard pin-up, which may or may not exist.

I'm not looking for love interests or such, but I'm just curious why they seem absent. Does Nick not allow females to be mutated for some odd reason?

IDW Comics seem to have a better representation with Alopex, Koya, and Sally, though it's still mostly one sided, but at least there are some.

Not Nick's fault originally. The majority of the OT toyline was male mutants as well.

I wondered that too. I would almost consider April to be a mutant, and she could be either a mutant or a hybrid character. I guess the only female mutant we have at the current moment is Karai.

Dude... given the membership here, I'm pretty sure you're not just a lone ranger on that.

Not to be the devil advocate but there was also dr. Cluckingsworth, the parasitic wasp, and the mom thing.

It only feels this way because we haven't had many talking female mutants yet.

Personally I don't want to have female mutants just fill a quota but I also don't want a type a story that specifically requires a female mutant because that type thinking will often leads to tropes and stereotype.

Guys we been down this road before so I'll just say this: make good characters that will bring interesting plots and ideas.

For something serious and action oriented give her motivations that can either clash with the turtles for conflict or have her motivations be relatable enough for them to want to help her as allies or because they happen to share the same goals. Or you can have a crazy fun character like Renet to create a zany pizza face like situations. It not how many you have, it's about how you use them in the context of the show.

I take back my snarky question.
The above is an important point.

No girl mutants.
No more girls on the show at all.
This will either get rid of the romantic subplots, which I'm in favor of.
Or make all attempts at romance involving same sex attraction, which I am also in favor of.

No girl mutants.
No girls at all.
